Great fan for front intake

Vantec Vortex 2 Hard Drive Cooling System - Model VTX-C02-BK
Vantec Vortex 2 Hard Drive Cooling System - Model VTX-C02-BK

Pros: It makes almost no noise! I have heard that these fans can whine, but I have not heard a peep from mine and I keep it cranked up to full all the time. The filter was a wonderful touch to keep dust out of my system which has been a plague on my computer before I put filters on all my intake fans. The blue LED goes perfectly with my blue LED 120mm exhaust fan and all the blue cables. Yes, I am a girl geek who likes a pretty computer. I have three windows, so it's no wonder.

Cons: The size in the title is the size of the actual fan, not the entire piece of equipment. Read all the reviews. The entire apparatus is 5.25" wide, the barrel fan on the inside is 3.5". But this is the only thing wrong. The measurement is accurate for the fan size, they just need to put that the size of the entire thing is 5.25".

Overall Review: Make sure that you have a good exhaust fan with this. Get one that draws about 50-75cfm and you will cool your system by about 12C. My CPU temps never get above 45C on full load. It helps your GPU too.

Air flow blocker

GIGABYTE GH-PDU22-SC EVR Sleeve CPU Cooler
GIGABYTE GH-PDU22-SC EVR Sleeve CPU Cooler

Pros: Unless you have a massive amount of space for air to flow around this monster, then it might do you some good.

Cons: Way too honkin huge! The installation was not hard, but when I put it on my CPU temp jumped from 34C to 71C! I had to shut it down before it fried my system and yanked it out immediately. Even with Arctic Silver 5 this thing could not cool worth a toot.

Great basic board... but...

ASUS P5G43T-M Pro LGA 775 Intel G43 HDMI Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS P5G43T-M Pro LGA 775 Intel G43 HDMI Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: The board is great for casual builders who don't over clock. The BIOS is simple to understand and manipulate and the abundance of USB ports is awesome.

Cons: The only bad thing about this board, is that the SATA connectors are positioned so that the first two are covered if a long video card is put in. Not too much of a problem unless you have a lot of drives.

Overall Review: This Board Intel E6700 2.67Ghz Dual Core Processor 4 GB DDR3 PNY nVidia GTS 450

Awesome MB

ASUS P5G43T-M Pro LGA 775 Intel G43 HDMI Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS P5G43T-M Pro LGA 775 Intel G43 HDMI Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Board was stable during OS instillation and has remained stable for 5 months now. Can support up to a Quad Core. Fair OC capability for casual users. I haven't fiddled around with anything in the BIOS over much, but it has remained stable. Not much else I could ask for.

Cons: Takes DDR3 Ram, however I believe that even this will lower in price with time. Didn't have two PCI 2.0 slots. But its a mATX. Only a minor gripe and easily overlooked.

Upped the RAM in my Gaming Rig

G.SKILL 2GB DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Desktop Memory Model F2-5300CL4S-2GBPQ

Pros: I ordered this to cure my rig of its hic-ups while loading maps and web pages. It has far exceeded my expectations and I now zoom through tasks in half the time. I now have 4GB of DDR2 with my OC P4 3.6 GHz and GeForce 8600 GTS 512MB Video Card.

Cons: Ummm...it wasn't for free? Or made of chocolate...

Cold as ice

Vantec Iceberq 4 Pro Copper VGA Cooling Kit with Blue LED Fan - Model CCB-A4P
Vantec Iceberq 4 Pro Copper VGA Cooling Kit with Blue LED Fan - Model CCB-A4P

Pros: Easy to install. Just pop out the old fan, wipe off the old thermal grease and put on a dab of Arctic Silver 5, pop the new fan on, plug it in and your a go!

Cons: I can't plug it into my card. But fan control is no problem with the adapter it came with.

Overall Review: I run an old Intel 3.0GHz OCed to 3.6 with 2GB RAM, 250GB SATA HD, two DVD writers and a Biostar P4M900 MB. My GPU has never gotten above 50C even under full load.
