Cons: I bought an XFX 5870 XXX Edition, had problems with strange visuals and artifacts. After about 3 months of back and forth with XFX, I finally got them to accept an RMA. I paid $20 for shipping. About 2 weeks later, I got another card. This card wasn't a XXX Edition. It was a regular 5870 that had been overclocked a tiny bit at the factory. In fact, the new card's overclock was slightly lower than my original purchase. The new card was also defective. It was artifacting and the fan was extremely loud. I sent that card back. I told them that I was planning on selling the card as soon as I received my replacement. I suggested that maybe they should send me a 6970 instead since then I might be able to recoup a reasonable amount of my losses. They sent me another 5870. I spent $440 + $40 for return shipping costs on this headache. I might recoup $200 (wishful thinking) when I sell it. BASICALLY, I FEEL LIKE I WAS ROBBED OF $280 AND MY TIME AND SANITY.
Other Thoughts: I've never dealt with a company that was so unwilling to provide customer satisfaction. They should be ashamed and I wouldn't be surprised if there was a class-action lawsuit brought against them soon. This company won't last much longer. The lack of quality of their product combined with the unwillingness to provide customer satisfaction will destroy the company. DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM XFX. EVER. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: ZEROtherm Nirvana NV120 PWM 120mm Long Life Bearing CPU Cooler
Pros: Cools my E8400 very well. Easy to install even for a newbie. Never gets over 52C. (according to Realtemp) when running prime95 @ 4.2+Ghz. Ambient temps around 75F. , 23C.
Cons: Fan controller hanging out the back of my case. Fan controller gets hot if fan is around 50% or more. In any case, it hasn't caused any problems for me.
Other Thoughts: Probably the best bang for your buck as far as LGA 775 CPU heatsinks in raw performance.READ FULL REVIEW
Cons: Apparently, upon looking at the reviews, this power supply is junk. They burn out. It seems that Newegg tries to sell their faulty stuff as "Shell Shocker Deals". I've watched for good shell shockers for many months now and have only rarely seen good, reliable stuff offered and even then its not that great of a deal. The best one I've seen to date is a Western Digital Caviar Black 750gb hard drive for about $20 off. Wow. $20 off. Wow. :/READ FULL REVIEW
