This review is from: HEC 6BRBBB Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
Pros: Free Shipping,a promo code discount, and mercifully I did not pay full price.
Cons: During the installation it became apparent this case is not what it appeared to be. Other reviews stated "thin" and "flimsy" material. That in of it's self is not a deal breaker but their descriptions are understated.
Side panels do not go on well, hole alignment is poor on both sides as well as on PSU mounting holes, could only get three.
Front bezel does not "snap on", kind of loose and seems inferior enough to have a "short" life. This is a problem because the power and reset buttons are part of the bezel they are not on the case frame.
Even with a micro atx mobo and Amd cpu with stock cooler I cannot mount a fan on top of case. Speaking of which is yet another cheaply made and fittingly applied crown on what is truly a poorly made case.
All foam filters cannot be easily removed for cleaning with out bending back tabs on perforated covers,on top and front,or removing PSU to get at bottom filter.
Some times you just can't tell until you have it in your hands.
Other Thoughts: The screwless installation is good as is the ventilation.
I thought I would like the black inside. Turns out (for me) it's to dark to work in with out a good light.
I planned on using this case for a budget general purpose backup PC and to that end I succeeded.
While mostly disappointed I will say this case is not bad looking and is not without some good features like long wires, e-sata,smooth edges and plenty of expansion slots.
My HEC 6BRBBB's fate is to spend time on the workbench where it will be introduced to my die grinder and various cutting tools, destined to become an ongoing experiment.
Three eggs is generous.
Pros: I did it for the money. Could not resist the price. Yes,I read the many negative reviews(more on that latter)and bought it anyway. Installed both sticks, booted up,ran flawlessly. Not even a hint of trouble.Have run numerous reboots for file deletions, registry cleaning, hard drive defrag and bios changes with no issues.
Replaced 8GB's DDR2 800 with this 4GB kit of DDR3 1066(for what it's worth) my Vista WEI score" for ram "dropped to 5.7 from 5.9. Not a big deal for me. MSI P35 Platinum Combo,"mildly" overclocked with preset bios specs. Q6600,8600GT,8400GS,old huh?,Acer 22",Nec 19". First time I have tried OCZ and from what I have seen I would buy again....... Happy with a few extra bucks in my pocket.
Cons: One stick for some reason will not allow dim slot locking tab to seat completely. Memory stick seems to be solidly seated but locking tab is noticeably higher than others.
Other Thoughts: Time to give thanks to the many knowledgeable reviewer's from whom I have gleaned insight and understanding. Thank you all. My level of expertise is average at best. We all know that electronic components "do fail"even, and often, when they are new, unfortunately. With that being said I cannot help but notice an underlying thread of incompetence when you read between the lines on a large percentage of reviews. As I stated before I am certainly not the smartest but I know enough to do my research and ask questions. That way I can avoid having to display my lack of knowledge by writing negative reviews.READ FULL REVIEW
