This review is from: Thermaltake CL-P0326 90mm 1 Ball, 1 Sleeve CPU Cooler
Pros: Excellent design for easy, secure installation, keeps CPU nice and cool. This cooler mounts to the motherboard with 4 screw studs, this is heavenly compared to frustrating, delicate plastic pins, the cooler can also be moved to another system without any plastic breaking.
Cons: Attn: Thermaltake: Your website gives an error page, manual cannot be downloaded or found.
It is a bit loud, not 747 loud, but not quiet.
Pros: Lasted for almost 6 years, Lifetime warranty
Cons: Having one stick go bad and having to go through the process of returning it and waiting for replacement RAM.
Other Thoughts: Back in the 1990s I was a lab tech, we used only Crucial RAM. We installed thousands of sticks of Crucial RAM without any problems.
I am hoping this is a fluke and is not part of the many formerly reliable brands that have in quality and longevity. Crucial stands by their product with a lifetime warranty, that's a big plus in these days of 1-year warranties.
This review is from: StarTech UNIDOCK2U USB to SATA IDE Hard Drive Docking Station for 2.5in or 3.5in HDD
Pros: The concept is great, but the product is built like a cheap child's toy.
Cons: Unit arrived with box in perfect tact, the weight inside had already detached inside and moves all around. Poor design and poor quality control do not begin to describe this piece of junk.
The power button was defective and when I pressed it, it broke and fell into the unit. I can't return this item as it was sitting on my shelf for 30+ days before I used it. My fault for not testing it right away, I had 3 rig builds going at once and 30 days can fly by, so test anything you buy when you can still RMA it, even though RMAing in itself is a hassle.
I would not recommend StarTech products to anyone here, or to my peers, associates and family & friends. Take a look at all their products here, many have received negative reviews consistently.
Other Thoughts: It seems some of the reviewers here had better luck than me, it's time to search for a more rugged, professional unit.
I've been a tech and sys engineer with over 20 years experience, this product is not built for professional use, never mind occasional home use, which was why I purchased this unit. Things are just not built the same, you can't trust some brand names, forget about off-names.
I'm glad that I can still count on Newegg to facilitate my purchases, they have never let me down over many years of doing business.
