This review is from: LIAN LI PC-7HX Black Aluminum ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
Pros: +Aluminum. Lots of it.
+Great design with solid cooling. Haswell 4670K averages around 39C (80F ambient room temps) with stock clock settings. Excellent overall build quality!
+Easy to access USB 3.0 ports (with cover) and power/reset buttons on top of case.
+Drive cage is awesome!
+Very few LEDs. Power (blue) and hard drive activity lights (blue/red) are very subtle. Fans are LED-free.
+Enough space for most PSUs, video cards and CPU coolers.
+Insane sale price. Absolutely the best case for the money, when on sale!
Cons: -Cables for power and reset buttons located directly above top-mounted media drive. Requires bending of cables.
-Cutouts for cable management and CPU cooler installation aren't aligned well or too small. It was very difficult to install the rear bracket for my Zalman CPU cooler. 8-pin ATX connector for motherboard barely fit through the adjacent hole and was very hard to route.
Other Thoughts: Current Config: MSI Z87-G45, Core i5-4670K, High Power Astro PT 600W PSU, 8GB RAM, Gigabyte GTX660Ti, Zalman CNPS9900MAX, 1TB WD Black, Intel 520 120GB SSD, Blu-ray DriveREAD FULL REVIEW
Pros: +This is the least expensive, high-quality, Platinum certified and semi-modular PSU that I could find for my build. (Prices may vary.)
+Only ~10% (1 light) power draw with a light workload. While running the Bioshock Infinite benchmark on max settings, PSU briefly peaked at ~30-40%.
+Fully ErP 2013 compliant and supports Haswell.
+600W is more than enough to power my build without any issues.
+Plenty of cables for most newer builds.
+Clean and stable power. (This is VERY important for high-end audio and video applications.)
+Well-reviewed and has receive many awards and recommendations.
Cons: -Cables can be a little short. I had a hard time routing the 8-pin ATX connector to my motherboard within my mid-tower case with a bottom-mounted PSU. This may be problematic for some cases/builds.
-Warranty? No info online, on the box or in the manual. Manual's last page has something about "Garanti Belgesi" with an address in Istanbul, but not sure if it applies in the US. Very odd as other companies back their products with 5yr warranties.
Other Thoughts: Current Config: Lian Li PC-7HX case, MSI Z87-G45, Core i5-4670K, Gigabyte GTX660Ti, 8GB RAM, WD Black 1TB HD, Intel 520 120GB SSD, Blu-ray Drive, Zalman CNPS9900MAX, HDMI 24-bit/192khz audio into Marantz SR8002.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Has XMP profile for rated settings. GREAT timings. Price is awesome. Lifetime warranty. Stable memory. Works great with Asus P6T Deluxe and was able to hit 4GHz on the Core i7 with no problems. Probably the best price to performance/quality ratio currently available.
Cons: No major issues. Minor issue (which might be an Asus issue): CPUID Hardware Monitor shows this as running 1.67 DRAM voltage using the XMP profile and Auto voltage setting.
Other Thoughts: I wasn't that familiar with G.Skill before I bought this but, I had heard great things. I'm really happy with this memory! I compared this to another company's 1600 trip-chan RAM and was able to achieve the same CPU overclock (which worried me about the 1333 memory). I'd advise to use memory with an XMP profile, this will save you some headaches when overclocking. I'll definitely look at G.Skill in the future when I'm looking for new memory!READ FULL REVIEW
