Cons: Simply does not work. NewEgg should be ashamed for selling this garbage, as everyone loves flushing $40+ down the toilet.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 AM3+ AMD 990FX + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons: Currently in the beginning phase of the RMA process for this board. The item listed as 8.2 power phase design in the motherboard schematic lifts and rocks. I suppose this could be normal, but I have seen anything labeled "Ultra Durable" that lifts and rocks off of it's foundation.
My last purchase from NewEgg over half of what I bought was faulty. I had to RMA four stick of RAM and now a motherboard. Be cautious and buy local if you can. Otherwise, you can be in my shoes, which is a half built gaming rig, which has already been paid for in full, sitting in a lonely corner of the room collecting dust. Not to mention, the extra shipping you get to pay to RMA the products you already paid shipping on.
Guess I can cross a few more manufactures and distributors off my preferred list.
Cons: Purchased two sets of this RAM, and one set was bad. This would not be too suspicious, but I also bought a separate set, different RAM type, also Patriot, and half of that set was bad. Given the sample population, that is a 50% failure rate. I RMA'd both sets (had to pay for shipping again, which is bull) and am still waiting on the return. So in all, my attempt at buying memory from a manufacturer I used to have faith in has been going on for nearly one month and has cost me more than it should have. I guess next time I'll buy local from a different manufacture, as Patriot has clearly slipped in quality. At least this way, I can get what I paid for without all the nonsense.READ FULL REVIEW
