Pros: Good cost/capacity (when purchased - 1 in 2010 and 2 in 2011), 5 year warranty. The one that still works is fine. Fast and quiet. 1.0 TB
blacks in another machines also working fine.
Cons: Of three 1.5 TB Black drives purchased 2 have failed. Both at around 2 years.
Other Thoughts: Seems Newegg no longer stocks the 1.5s. I wonder if it's due to failure rate. They do still carry other size blacks.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: ONKYO TX-NR709 7.2-Channel Network A/V Receiver
Pros: Sounds great, when it works correctly.
Cons: At first I thought wife or someone was leaving unit on after a month or so of this I found that it was turning it's self on. Mid Aug 2011, I noticed it turning it's self on, switched to cable/sat box, and was cycling through listening modes. Late Aug/early Sept receiver had to be disconnected from power to shut down. Searched web for solution, found press release from Onkyo admitting problem and assuming responsibility(sorry newegg doesn't allow linkage, but you can find it). That's when I called Onkyo 9/5/2011. I was emailed printable shipping label and told that a box would be sent 48-72 hours. As of 9/14 no box. Called Onkyo, told I would have box in 3-5 days. 9.22.11, still no box shipping label expired. Called again, 20-30 min wait, spoke to non english speaking gentleman, told there was some kind of delay, the “email department” was closed and he would call back 9/23. 9/23 same guy called back to say that a box & shipping label would be pispatched 48-72 so we'll see.
Other Thoughts: I'd always considered Onkyo to be pretty darn good equipment, but now, I'm not too sure. Especially with the run around I've gotted the last few weeks. This is just plain sloppy customer service. The kind of treatment one would expect from Sony or HP. BTW, I purchased TX-NR709 from those wonderful folks in Charlottesville,VA not newegg.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: SilverStone SUGO SG02-BF Black ABS / SECC Steel MicroATX Desktop Computer Case
Pros: Ummm...it's black. Nice mounting system for HDD's.
Cons: WAY overpriced for what it is. Very flimsy metal chassis. If it were only a quarter inch longer mounting motherboard would be a sinch, as is, however, it's difficult. Also very little room between PSU and optical drive. Needs ventilation directly above PSU for using fanless models. Needs larger fan mounts so larger, quieter 120mm fans can be used. Plastic front cover has lots of scratches.
Other Thoughts: Overall low quality. I expect better from this supposedly premier case manufacturer at this price.READ FULL REVIEW
