Pros: Really fast drive and for 1.5 TB really cheap. I read some of the reviews and thought this would be a gamble buying this drive, but have nothing but good things to say about it. I bought 11 of these drives and NONE were doa, or have died within a month. They ave a great transfer speed, and work well with RAID. I have 4 set for hot swap between my 2 computers, 2 set up with raid 1 (mirror), and 4 with raid 5, and one spare drive. I have had no problems with the raid setup failing a drive, or any problems at all.
Cons: They are a bit loud at startup, clicking sounds when the drive powers up for about 15 seconds. Other than that, my systems is so loud i wouldnt be able to hear the drives at normal operating speed anyways.
Other Thoughts: Cheap drive, great value, no problems. If you want a fast, massive, and inexpensive hard drive buy this one. Windows XP doesnt normally allow drives over 2TB so had to split the 4.5 TB raid 5 array into 3 volumes. Now have about 15TB storage with really fast raid for about $2000.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Cheap cost. Works fine if there is no need to get a disc read / burnt fast.
Cons: Really slow burning a disc, shows as writing at 8X but takes 30 minutes to burn a dvd.
Other Thoughts: Dont know if it is a defective drive or just plain bad. Using nero to burn dvds drive buffer level jumps around 20% - 60% when burning. Using LG blu ray / dvd-r N82E16827136133 stays at 100% using the same computer, same discs, same files and burns 5X faster.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Very Sturdy construction, but heavy. Great hot swap bay design, good looking case.
Cons: Ventilation isnt the greatest. It has 2 rear spots for 80mm fans, and comes with one installed 80mm fan but isnt a the greatest. For anything that produces heat get a pair of high speed fans.
Other Thoughts: I use this as a gaming case and I had to remove the fan behind one of the hot swap bays to allow room for the graphics card. The installed fans, and hot swap fans arent that quiet.READ FULL REVIEW
