Decent sound, horrible durability/reliability
Pros: *Good sound, great mic clarity. *Very comfortable in extended gaming sessions.
Cons: *Long cord gets tangled easily - the headset does include a plastic "cable spindle", but it's more of a nuisance than a help most of the time. *Cords are not very robust (pretty thin); I'm always afraid of breaking them. *Mic stopped working completely after 5 months.
Overall Review: I've owned several Sennheiser products in the past (old-fashioned headphones) and I've been extremely happy with all of them. So when the time came for a headset, I got these ones based on positive reviews. I needed a headset that included a USB sound card because I'm a Mac user and Apple thinks that we don't need analog mic-level inputs. The sound is good, but not quite up to par with some of my older cans from Sennheiser and Grado. But then again, I wasn't expecting the world, either. I certainly didn't want to spend $300+ on an uber high-end headset... The mic sounded great - very clear and intelligible - up until it stopped working completely, all of a sudden. This headset has not been physically abused AT ALL. I never dropped it or tugged on its cords excessively. At first I thought that perhaps the USB sound card dongle might have burned out, but I plugged an old Logitech desktop mic into it and it worked fine. Disappointing, but Sennheiser is fixing them under warranty.
