This review is from: ASUS P8B-E/4L ATX Server Motherboard LGA 1155 Intel C204 DDR3 ECC UDIMM
Pros: IPMI 2.0 upgradeable, PCIE3.0 (with Xeon v2s), SATA3, high quality NICs, plenty of expansion slots including ASUS PIKE for SAS
Cons: DOA - RMAs cost time and money.
Other Thoughts: The (first) board would not even begin to post with a verified-working PSU, and Xeon e3-1230(v1). This silence is not golden. Awaiting replacement. I am sure when i receive a working board i will be quite pleased, and happy to recommend this product, but with a DOA, i feel responsible to report this possibility.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: the drive is fast, and quiet, with decent support(only one type of my discs were limited to 2x). it looks amazing. it has played ripped hundreds of discs of all sizes and regions without issue.
Cons: the cable is quite short..
Other Thoughts: if you have a problem with this drive; you are doing it WRONG.
if you want bloatware, install powerdvd. otherwise, buy something better...THIS DRIVE IS WELL WORTH IT REGARDLESS OF INCLUDED SOFTWARE.
This review is from: SYBA SY-PEX40048 PCI Express SATA II (3.0Gb/s) Controller Card
Pros: If they worked, they would be awesome.
Cons: bought two. both have issues detecting drives on random ports. tested in multiple working motherboards, in multiple working PCIE slots, with multiple working HDDs. Theyre both assuredly DOA. Also, they run extremely hot. if you have a working card, consider buying heatsinks for the mv chip, before it burns itself out.
Other Thoughts: perhaps the rosewill version will be better. at least they have a 1yr manf. warranty...READ FULL REVIEW
