This review is from: ECS Z77H2-A3(1.2) LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Pros: Motherboard was combined with a 20nm Intel and has a 6GB Sata that combined with a SSD provided a lightening fast system. Very small design allowed it to fir in a tight server configuration, and the system has been running 'lights out' for a couple of weeks, the only access we need is remote desktop, always boots up, runs a complex video cctv application that records 100's of gigabytes of video daily, mates well with the 12 Tb raid NAS, really not using USB or any PCI slots, just networking off the MB. a 60 Gb SSD and a 1.5 Tb temporary storage drive.
Cons: Actually, I did use the USB's during the install of Windows 7 professional, the external USB DVD drive booted fine and installed Windows fine. So the USB's work well too.
Other Thoughts: Motherboards can be hit or miss. I returned a more expensive ASUS and used this MB instead. Normally I like ASUS the best, but this MB has met the challenge.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: ARK IPC-3U303 Black 3U Rackmount Server Case 1 External 5.25" Drive Bays
Pros: This shallow form factor is perfect for 2 rail racks, and has been hard to find up to now.
Cons: micro atx boards can range from 6.7" to 9.6" deep. This case is really tight on a full size micro atx motherboards, but it does fit. The 9.6" wide micro atx standard is fine. There are two 60mm fans included with this unit, which worked for me since the .022 intel chips are much cooler (3rd and 4th generation)
Other Thoughts: My case had cooling vents over the power supply, which allowed a top cooling ps to draw air through a filter. Still, I mounted the ps upside down to give it better air flow, there was a nice 1/2" space under the ps for air flow.READ FULL REVIEW
