Pros: Big screen, you get a lot for the money as far as speed, and screen size.

Cons: As someone else reported already in their review, the dvd drive keeps turning on with nothing in the drive, about 3-5 times an hour. It may not sound like a big deal, but believe me, when the thing makes all sorts of noises several times an hour for no reason, it's literally the most annoying thing I've ever dealt with on a computer. Especially if you're in deep concentration on something, it's such an awful distraction and and completely makes you lose track of what you're doing. I boxed it up and sent it into Newegg about 2 weeks after I got it, for repair. They tested it, couldn't find the problem, and sent it back to me saying that nothing is wrong with the computer! I called them back and told them that there is a problem, but the fact that their technicians couldn't find it doesn't mean that there isn't a problem, it just means they cannot find it! I was so upset that I returned the computer (I was still within my 30 day warranty) for a 15% re-stocking fee. The way I saw it, I'll take a small loss to avoid further aggravation, stress, and loss. I called some computer repair shops in my area and they said they have never experienced or heard of this problem before. I asked some friends who are good with computers and they acted like they had no idea what I was talking about. Either people had no idea, or they are just too lazy to think a tiny bit to recall a similar experience (people are so mindless these days). Nonetheless, it was no fun having an unheard of issue, because nobody knew what the problem was, including Newegg, and nobody knew how to fix it, including Newegg! This was the second Asus laptop I've bought, I had software issues with the last Asus laptop I bought from Newegg. This is the last time I buy an Asus laptop, I gave them two chances and had problems both times. Shame on you Asus, you have lowered your standards for your systems. If they keep building garbage, it's only a matter of time before the word gets around and nobody buys their computers anymore. I'm already one of them. One thing I will give Newegg credit for, they do offer a 30 day return policy if you're not satisfied, and they do let consumers share information on these boards without screening them. Chances are, as a result of this post I'll save someone a lot of headache and heartache by halting their mistake before they hit the "commit to purchase" button. Heck, I might even save a few people the trouble. Who knows. All I know is, stay away from this computer. I hate to trash Asus but I would be lying if I said they are a good company because based on the two laptops I've bought from them, I've gotten trash. Two lemons ina row- coincidence? I would say yes, except that others on this feedback forum are reporting similar troubles.

Other Thoughts: Do yourself a favor, move onto a different manufacturer. Asus use to build good computers. They now build garbage. They use the cheapest parts they can find, it does nobody any good, not the consumer, not Asus.

ASUS F75VD-EB51 Notebook Intel Core i5 3210M (2.50GHz) 6GB Memory 750GB HDD NVIDIA GeForce GT 610M 17.3

Pros: Huge Screen at 17.3"with great screen resolution and color, keyboard has a number pad for convenience, very sharp looking and nice to look at, great i5 processor, FAST, plenty of Hard drive space for a laptop, good amount of memory for a laptop. Never overheats, I can't believe how cool it remains. And so quiet!! What an upgrade from my old laptop!

Cons: I really can't complain too much about this unit. I mean, the max volume really isn't that loud, and the touch pad is overly sensitive. The internet is a little buggy, it shuts down the web sometimes and makes you open it back up; my guess is that this issue will eventually get addressed in a Windows update.

But if you want the perfect laptop with no flaws whatsoever, have fun paying several thousand dollars for a laptop. For the price, this thing is very fast and powerful. Like I said not perfect, not flawless, but it's awesome and in my opinion unbeatable for the price!

Other Thoughts: The best part of this unit is, you get all of these great features with the great brand name! Asus has one of the best reputations in the industry for making a good, solid, reliable, reputable high-quality products. When I first started my laptop search, I knew that I wanted an Asus and that I did not want to go with some cheap brand just to save a few dollars. Problem was, Asus products are usually more expensive compared to other brands. So I wasn't sure if I wanted to pay that premium, just for a name. But when I saw what this Asus laptop had to offer, and at the price it was at, I just couldn't pass it up. And I'm happy I went with it. This is my first Asus product and so far I can say that the next computer I buy will be an Asus.

There are so many brands out there that make cheap, low quality computers, and lure you in with a lower price. Don't take the bait, pay just a little more and go with the best, it's worth it in the end because when something goes wrong with a cheap computer and you are out of warranty, the few dollars you saved goes right out the window, and then some. Asus is possibly one of the best computer manufacturers in existence.

In conclusion, I would recommend this laptop for any user at any level.
