Intel X25-M SSDSA2MH080G2K5 2.5
  • Owned For: more than 1 year

5 out of 5 eggs Over a year and still kicking 02/25/2012

This review is from: Intel X25-M SSDSA2MH080G2K5 2.5" 80GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: It's fast and reliable. I use it as a boot drive and have a few programs on it, which opening is near instant. This drive has been in my PC since October 2010 and I haven't noticed any decreases in performance and no hiccups.

Cons: None.

Pros: Includes an adapter for standard sized hard drive trays.

FAST. Definitely worth using for a boot drive.

Cons: None

Intel Core i7-870 Lynnfield Quad-Core 2.93GHz LGA 1156 95W Processor BX80605I7870
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: It's fast. Not as fast as higher end processors (such as some from the LGA 1366 sockets), but for gaming/digital design it's perfect. It's easy to overclock it, too.

Cons: It runs a bit hot. Even with a Megahalems heatsink with dual scythe fans in a push/pull config, I'm running at around 70-77 degress Celsius after several hours running a Prime95 "torture test" (Blend).

Other than that, there is no loss of performance from the heat, at least from looking at my tests/gaming.

Other Thoughts: I'm using an Asus P7P55-E Pro motherboard, and I overclocked it from 2.93GHz to 3.91GHz. I am very pleased, as I haven't actually dived into the world of over clocking in my machines until just now. Very easy and straightforward. Asus has some very nice utilities to help you out if you don't want to deal with the hassle of guessing yourself.
