This review is from: WD 3TB My Cloud Personal Network Attached Storage - NAS - WDBCTL0030HWT-NESN
Pros: This unit is simple to operate and very quite. Works great with my Macbook Pro using OS Mavericks and my Ipad mini.
Cons: I wish there was a power on button.
The IOS app isn't very useful so you must manage the device from a web browser.
Other Thoughts: I know it's lame but I purchased this though a brick and mortar sinces I wasn't sure it would work with OS Mavericks and my iPad mini and so I would return it if it didn't. I am going to buy another one here.
The unit streams video to my iPad mini which was my primary reason for buying this.
This review is from: LaCie 2big Thunderbolt 8TB External Hard Drive with Cable (9000246)
Pros: The drive is fast. 230MBs xfer rates from external USB3 SSD drive to this drive connected to a Thunderbolt port. Runs very quite and cool. The big blue light doesn't bother me since I turned the drive away so I can't see it. 8TB should hold me for awhile.
Cons: I almost give this device 4 stars instead of 5 because of the way it was shipped. The external box looked like it been though the wars and when I opened the box, the internal box looked like it had been open a resealed and the box that contained the power cords and CD was torn. Given a choice, I would not order a product though a 3rd party provider like Spry again. I am glad I purchased the extended warranty,READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: LaCie Thunderbolt & USB 3.0 9000352
Pros: This drive is very fast and stays very cool. Great form factor. You can run your OSX from this drive if you want. Works great on OS Mavericks. Comes with Thunderbolt cable.
Other Thoughts: While not much faster than USB3 in my use, it does not have the USB issues that OSX Mavericks seems to have for me. The ability to chain Thunderbolt devices beats USB3 as well. It would be great if LaCie would have a bring your own drive option.READ FULL REVIEW
