Pros: For those who are wondering, this laptop comes with the Lite-On SSD - model LITEONIT LCS-256M6S
Boots fast, good battery so far. Lots of USB 3.0 ports. Built-in WiFi is strong. 1T storage space. (16G Ram is overkill). Screen is mostly non-reflective, an improvement over previous models. Standard chicklet keyboard ok.
Cons: Biggest issues likely Win 8 related - Unit came with no mouse. No instructions on how to use Win 8 for 1st time users (good luck!). DVD drive (NOT BLU-RAY!!!!) is intermittent in recognizing there is a disc present. Reboot solves the problem, but that is a PITA to have to reboot almost every time you want to use a DVD. Screen color adjustment won't stick - it's overridden with every boot/reboot - requires opening NVIDIA panel and re-applying adjustments. EVERY TIME. Small nitpick - but the case has changed and now show fingerprints outside and inside unlike the previous models.
Other Thoughts: Overall, I am disappointed with this compared with the last ASUS laptop I had, the G73J which lasted for 4 years of hard daily use. I'd recommend spending the extra bucks for the 3D version - Blu-Ray will be included.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Kensington SlimBlade K72286US Black 2.4 GHz Wireless Laser Media Mouse
Pros: Small, flat, worked at 10 ft. distance. Sleek design. Looks good
Cons: Tiny, really tiny wheel feels strange. Worse, it became intermittent after two weeks and then stopped working entirely. Cleaning did not help. When I pulled USB link from port, the outer casing came off and I had to use needle nose to extract the metal casing from the port. Also, buttons are cantilevered and contact is not always firm. Sometimes you have to pull your finger back and repeat the click. Bad news.
Other Thoughts: Too bad. It looks great.READ FULL REVIEW
