Pros: Bought this to replace the standard HDD in my netbook so I could improve battery life and speed the old thing up a bit. Worked like a champ - I was able to transfer the image from my existing HDD over to it with no problems and I immediately saw an improvement in the netbook's operation.
Cons: Developed failed sectors and died on me about four months after purchase. That's pretty pathetic in my book. Unfortunately, that means I'll have to go deal with SanDisk's support. Here's to hoping they'll replace it without giving me any grief.
Other Thoughts: I'm glad I didn't have anything mission-critical stored on this thing. It still made for an exercise in frustration the week it died, though - It stays readable for a short amount of time when plugged in and as soon as you try and access one of the files in the bad section, it croaks and Windows won't recognize it until it has been unplugged and reattached.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Frigidaire FAD504TDD 50-Pint Dehumidifier White
Pros: Setup was a breeze.
Fitting for a hose so you can set it for continuous drain (which we will definitely be using!)
Excellent bucket capacity.
Controls are easy to understand.
On continuous mode it pulled a full bucket of water out of our (admittedly) damp basement in just under 12 hours - excellent operation!
Cons: Bucket is a bit awkward to remove unless you get down on the floor to pull it out, but not a deal-breaker.
Drain hose fitting is on the right side of the unit, would be nice if it could be set for either side.
No hose included with the unit, but a cheap garden hose isn't really that expensive anyway.
Other Thoughts: Whoever set up the UPS shipping for the unit slapped the stickers on the BOTTOM of the box, when it clearly says "THIS END UP" on the top side. Fortunately the unit wasn't damaged in shipment.
I'm not really sure where those other two reviews got the idea that a remote control was supposed to be included with the unit as it isn't mentioned anywhere in the unit's specs. For that matter, I can't really understand why you'd need a remote control for a dehumidifier anyway *shrug* And as far as Kenny D's "Not very good customer service in my opinion." comment, I fail to see what he was expecting NewEgg to do about a "missing" remote that isn't even supposed to be included in the first place - I'm guessing he expected the NE customer service department to produce this mythical remote out of thin air? If I was calling about a problem with a part for a product that didn't actually exist, I'd expect to get directed to the manufacturer's customer service as well...
This review is from: GARMIN 3.5" GPS Navigation
Pros: - Easy to use.
- Easy to set up.
- Got a free map upgrade with it since it was purchased within a map update release window.
Cons: - No driver disc.
- No instruction manual.
- Died after less than a month's use.
Other Thoughts: My unit worked great during the short time I had it. I updated the maps and had added a couple new voices and vehicle indicators with very little trouble once I figured out how to do it. Was even planning on doing some light geocaching with it. And then it died on me. Right now it's in RMA limbo on its way back to Garmin's offices in KS, replacement should be here in a couple weeks. I know it was a refurb, but I expect a refurb to last at least as long as a new one would, so I knocked an egg off for that.READ FULL REVIEW
