This review is from: SABRENT USB-SBCV USB 2.0 External 2.1 Surround Sound Adapter
Pros: Plug in and it works in OSX, Linux, Windows. LOUD if you want it. Gives you an extra audio output and input, separate from what you have now.
Cons: jacks are surface mount, which means you can't put any force on them, or they WILL unsolder. Re-soldering with leaded solder is possible, so if you can solder, it's not a bid deal. Otherwise, you've been warned- plug it in ONE time and leave it alone.
I took a star away for the flimsy design, as it's a minor hassle to repair the device (for me); others might take away 5 stars, as a solder joint failure takes away all utility.
Other Thoughts: For me, it's a minor hassle to re-solder the jack connections.
This device isn't going to replace a pro audio interface at a ten dollar price point.
If you have two video screens, you can now watch two movies with a separate sound track for each movie, at the same time by addition this device and two video player programs.
Pros: Cheap, solid, easy install, DVI + HDMI outputs work flawlessly. Works with OSX 10.6.x without any plist editing.
Cons: Fat heatsink renders one PCI slot unusable.READ FULL REVIEW
