This review is from: SUPERMICRO MBD-C7Z87-O ATX Motherboard LGA 1150 Intel Z87 DDR3 1600
Pros: Solid, fast, easy to work with, good layout. All components except the ASMedia SATA controller seem very good.
Cons: Failure-prone ASMedia SATA controller.
Other Thoughts: As I'm writing this I'm on the phone to make a second replacement of this board.
The one I originally bought, and its first replacement, both suffered from faulty ASMedia SATA ports; the former worked for a couple of days before failing, and the latter didn't work on arrival.
The Intel SATA ports work beautifully, as does every other aspect of the board, and according to Newegg I'm the only person to suffer this particular problem, although this board hasn't sold a ton of units.
I'll leave a follow-up review when the replacement arrives, detailing whether or not it has the same issue.
Pros: It's cheap?
Cons: Bought this for my mother's computer; dialup is her only access option.
Autorun on disk behaved strangely and failed to launch the correct driver setup when the correct OS was selected.
Manually attempting to install the driver via several means failed in several different ways.
Reminded me of trying to install sound hardware on Win2k.
I've had horrid experiences with every Rosewill component I've bought, but it had been six years or more since I bought something from them; this was cheap so I decided to give them another chance.
Guess I should've listened to my prejudices.
Pros: Fast. Bloody impressive.
Cons: None yet; will follow up if it gives me a reason.READ FULL REVIEW
