Great laptop!

TOSHIBA Laptop Qosmio Intel Core i5-450M 4GB Memory 500GB HDD NVIDIA GeForce GTS 360M 18.4" Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit X505-Q885
TOSHIBA Laptop Qosmio Intel Core i5-450M 4GB Memory 500GB HDD NVIDIA GeForce GTS 360M 18.4" Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit X505-Q885

Pros: Overall this laptop seems to be great. Performance is outstanding and the battery life is amazingly long even while gaming (about an hour - hour and a half while gaming) Screen is huge, took some time getting used to, but it is great :) Seems to be built pretty solid and could take a bit of abuse (though I would not recommend throwing it against the wall)

Cons: Had a few minor technical problems with the laptop at first but I did get these issues ironed out. Be sure to get the latest video drivers from nVidia's website for the GTS360M (the ones on the Toshiba website are far far behind and tend to cause system freezes while gaming). It is HUGE! Not very portable on that note. It is definitely a desktop replacement machine; although this could be considered a pro depending on how you look at it ;). Would had like to have had a Core i7 for the price; but the Core i5 is by no means a bad processor, it is very snappy and should be more than enough for most people. There is a TON of bloatware installed on the system. It is definitely packed with useful programs and utilities, but it also has a lot of useless trial programs and tool bars that serve to do nothing but suck out the performance that the laptop was intended to give you. Uninstall these useless programs and you will be good to go.

Overall Review: Gave an overall rating of 4 because of the cons and the issues I ran into; but it is a great laptop despite all that. FOR THE SECOND LIFE USERS: This laptop runs SL on Ultra settings at appx 15 - 20 FPS, depending on whether you decide to crank the draw distance to the max or not. The FPS was based on Ultra settings with a draw distance of 256 M on ground level of a moderate to high prim population. Same settings on 128 M DD results in around 20 - 25 FPS and on 96 M DD (my personal bare minimum) is around 25 - 35 FPS. On the lowest setting slider, anywhere from 30 - 100 FPS Mileage my vary depending on location :)

Starting to die after 3 months

MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi) 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Video Card N560GTX-TI Twin Frozr II/OC
MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi) 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Video Card N560GTX-TI Twin Frozr II/OC

Pros: It's fast and cool... when it works.

Cons: I have had this card for 3 months and for a while there has been no problem; the card was absolutely wonderful. But in the past month I have had 4 driver crashes resulting in BSOD and several incidences of graphics smearing, weird textures, random polygons all over the screen, etc.

Overall Review: I've been an MSI fan since 2004 and have not had any issues with their products... Might need to rethink this now as it seems they are letting their products quality suffer.

Very decent

Rosewill RX-358 V2 BLK - Black, 3.5" SATA to USB & eSATA External Enclosure with Internal 80 mm Fan
Rosewill RX-358 V2 BLK - Black, 3.5" SATA to USB & eSATA External Enclosure with Internal 80 mm Fan

Pros: - Fairly sturdy case construction (I wouldn't throw it against a brick wall but it should definitely hold up to normal use, bumps, wear, and tear) - Don't have to open the case and change wires around to switch between eSATA and USB (My previous enclosure you had to do this. Quite annoying) - Fan cooled with toggle switch to turn it on and off - Very nice data transfer rate (dependent on the hard drive of course) - Has a standard USB plug device side so if you lose it it's easy to replace; just head to your local store that sells electronics. - It's cheap

Cons: - Can be a bit cumbersome to disassemble and reassemble the case to switch drives out - Can't easily get all four mounting screws into the sides of the enclosure to hold the drive in with out pressing the far end of the drive down to line the holes up (This actually puts pressure on the drive's controller board so I just left those two screws out) - Wish it had the quick latching mount system like some of the infosafe brand enclosures; i.e. mount the drive in no screws needed. - Driver installation upon plugging the drive into the system tends to be a bit finicky. Sometimes it requires a system reboot after installation is finished although Windows didn't give me a notice saying that I should... I was scratching my head for a few minutes trying to figure out why SATA hotswap wasn't working when I decided to try a reboot on a whim. Haven't had issues with eSATA since. - No IDE support; Yeah yeah I know it's old tech but never know if you need to use it especially if you're working on an older system that's dead (but HD still works) and need to back up data off the drive. Not a huge con though

Overall Review: Took one egg off for the fact that it's hard to get all the mount screws into the sides of the enclosure with out putting undue and otherwise unneeded pressure on the hard drive's controller board as well as the fact that driver installation upon plugging it into your system tends to be a bit finicky. It is otherwise a great product.

Works great!

G.SKILL 16GB microSDHC Flash Card Model FF-TSDG16GA-C6
G.SKILL 16GB microSDHC Flash Card Model FF-TSDG16GA-C6

Pros: * Decently fast read speeds. * Works out of the box * It's cheap

Cons: None that I can think of... Except that microSD's are really small and are really easy to lose if you don't always keep it in your device.

Overall Review: Write speeds you can expect to be on the slow side averaging around 3 - 4 mbs (assuming that you're not attempting to write lots of small sized files); but overall not bad.

Not what I expected...

EVERCOOL FAN-EC7015M12CA 70mm Case Cooling Fan
EVERCOOL FAN-EC7015M12CA 70mm Case Cooling Fan

Pros: It works... kind of; but no way of attaching it to the computer case

Cons: Fan came with standard wood screws and they didn't even fit right in the holes... correct me if I'm wrong, but most computer cases are made of some type of metal.

Great replacement fan

EVERCOOL VC-RF Ever Lubricate VGA Cooler
EVERCOOL VC-RF Ever Lubricate VGA Cooler

Pros: Replaced a heatsink/fan off of a GeForce FX5500 card with this. Fits perfectly and installation was a snap (literally). All in all it works great and the LED lights are a cool touch.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Overall Review: Power connector does not connect to the power pins on-board the card; it needs to connect to one of the PSU's connectors. But it does provide a means of also connecting that connector to another device that requires power, so it won't waste a connector.
