This review is from: OCZ Vertex 2 2.5" 55GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) OCZSSD2-2VTXE60G
Pros: I've had this in my htpc for just 3 years now, and I have to say it is running great! Boot up times are super quick, and I'm thoroughly pleased with this drive so far. Great/must buy!
Cons: May run hot at times, but this may be a fan issue on the motherboard. It remains to be seen on how it would run in a hard drive enclosure.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Obihai OBI110 VoIP Telephone Adapter with SIP & Phone Line Gateway
Pros: Voice quality, features, size, and ease of set-up - all and everything about it is a plus. I've yet to find any negatives about it. I love this adapter, and has saved me a lot of money in landline fees.
Cons: None so far...
Other Thoughts: Just get it!READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: I got this to get rid of my two Verizon DVR boxes that were being charged $32($20 for the any-room DVR, and 12 for the additional set-top box) a month for! In 6 months time - this unit is paid for by saving on those $32 a month, thus is a sound investment. My CableCard was issued by Verizon and came pre-activated (the rest was done online w/o any human interaction). Cablecard rental is about $4 a month (still better than $32). When setting this up with my htpc, I did my research and followed the online instructions from Ceton to the letter. If your network situation is stable (no wireless interference or no wireless at all - you will be the happiest person on earth with it), all the initial headaches can be avoided. I've been using this on 2 TVs (2 tuners on each TV); paired to a 5TB HTPC drive. I can record now, more shows and channels than I ever could. The cable companies will give you a typical 500GB drive for DVR - but I got 5TB, so you do the math.
Picture quality from the tuners is top-notch, and I have never had to reboot my machine or client machine. All problems, if any, are not related Ceton - but rather your network set-up. Use a good 'wired' connection, with a beefy A/V optimized router, and you will be HAPPY. I will buy one more of these to get my parents off of their DVR boxes and save them $$$. Yes, it is that reliable, that I'd give to my retired parents to use :)
Cons: None. Initial pain can be overcome if you have a clean, stable network. Do not use this over wireless, otherwise, you'll be joining the daily reboot club, along with the 'headache'/'junk' club.READ FULL REVIEW
