IBM 81Y9886 3 TB 3.5' Internal Hard Drive
  • Owned For: 1 day to 1 week

4 out of 5 eggs Paranormal 03/02/2013

This review is from: IBM 81Y9886 3 TB 3.5' Internal Hard Drive

Pros: Easiest installation over any other drive. Hands down... plug it in and boom it worked.

After I had installed the 3TB IBM drive, the next morning I found that my computer grew legs, even arms(!) and installed a disco ball in the rec room and had the stereo blaring!!

Cons: I'm confused why the computer hadn't decided to use it's own Windows media player over the home stereo system.

Mushkin Enhanced Mulholland 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive Model MKNUFDMH16GB
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Sufficient storage, that's about it.

Cons: Quality.
Purchased in August 2011, soldering from chip and usb had broken apart just today had to retrieve needle nose pliers to pull out of computer.
Very annoyed.

Other Thoughts: These usb pens need to be constructed better. Manufactures can easily add a micro screw to prevent the chip and usb from degrading soldered joints.

2 out of 5 eggs Poor Quality 08/30/2008

This review is from: XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler I5 775 AMD compatible

Pros: Exposed Copper, large fan and excellent RPM/CFM output.

Cons: This heatsink/fan is running hot at idle temps! 40-55c, unacceptable.

Anyhow, I'm not too impressed with this heatsink, after installing it. At first it was impressive with the exposed copper tubbing, knowing that would draw heat, but when I started to apply ArcticSilver5 to the heatsink base (attached it to the CPU then removed it, usually apply my HS twice, to create a secure bond and remove airpockets) I noticed at the base of the heatsink a corner did not apply ArcticSilver5 throughout, just a smidge (the base is not flush), I twisted and added pressure, but it still did not apply correctly... so I applied the heatsink in different settings to properly apply the bond. Disappointed the base is not flush.

In conclusion, the heatsink base is flawed (I shouldn't have to sand it down to accomodate the system needs) the base should have been properly flush during manufacturing, and quality checks should have picked this up.

Other Thoughts: I'm sure it's a good heatsink, but when flaws like this occur it's a manufacturer issue.
