Pros: Price, when you get a working pair.
Cons: Need to RMA another set. This set was just received from a previous RMA and yet it also has 1 bad stick.
Other Thoughts: I've ordered these several times to be fair. I'll never order them again. The problem is that it costs me time and money to keep RMA'ing and then testing the new pair until I get a good set. I would have saved money by throwing the first set away.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: IOGEAR GCS1808KITU 8-Port USB PS/2 Combo VGA KVM Switch with USB KVM Cables
Pros: Works well with 8 servers hooked up. Don't use all the bells and whistles. Never upgraded the firmware. Just plugged it in and it works.
Cons: -1 egg for occasionally losing the mouse when working. The mouse will just disappear and you have to move it around a bit to come back. Not bad, but still occasionally irritating.
Other Thoughts: Good unit for the price. You shouls ground the unit. The short cable is for grounding to your rack, which this is designed to be installed in, not just lying on a desktop somewhere.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: No oversize heat spreader, but there is a heat spreader. Good tech support knowledge when you need them. Decent price, but not the lowest.
Cons: Have ordered several of these kits. 2 out of 4 kits had a bad module and had to be replaced, and 1 replacement kit had to be replaced again due to a bad module. That is over a 50% failure rate if you count the bad replacement.
Other Thoughts: There is NO WAY these are tested before they leave the factory. Maybe random sampling or something. It's a shame because I used to recommend their products but cannot any longer.
The first kit I bought was great. The second had a bad module of the two. I RMA'd it straight to Crucial to save time and they will cross ship. The replacement I received was sealed, but bad as well. I RMA'd again and got a good kit.
Now I should have learned my lesson, but I just ordered another 2 kits to give them a fair chance. 1 kit was good, 1 kit had a bad module. This time I'm going to RMA through Newegg since it's not as time critical.
