D-Link DHP-701AV HomePlug AV2 AV2000 MIMO Gigabit Powerline Starter Kit, up to 2000Mbps
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: less than 1 day

Pros: Installation was as easy as plugging it in. showed I was getting 6-10 times the download speed and 4 times the upload speed that I was able to achieve with wifi and wifi range extenders.

Cons: I wish I would have tried these sooner. I've been fiddling with all kinds of options to spread a signal across the home.

Other Thoughts: I just moved into a 3 story house, and my modem and router are in the basement. I was struggling to get wifi to the third story, and cutting up the walls to run cables just wasn't practical. I was worried that these wouldn't work because my electrical is on 3 different panels, but it works quite well.

SanDisk ReadyCache SDSSDRC-032G-G26 2.5
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: Easy to install.

Cons: I cannot perceive an improvement in performance.
It randomly causes my PC to fail/freeze at start-up.

Other Thoughts: I've read about the SSD cache drove concept, and the potential gains were documented in those articles. Perhaps I will return this device and wait for a SanDisk competitor to provide a better alternative.

TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: It found my home network signal.

Cons: It simply would not connect to my network.

Other Thoughts: It might be nice if it offered more than one method for connection.
