This review is from: Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 - White
Pros: Solid build. Responsive (no lag). Lots of apps. Big screen. Accurate voice dictation. Standard mini USB port. MicroSD slot. Great ear bud sound. Takes surprisingly good HD video as long as you don't zoom.
Cons: Few killer apps for me - I'm not a gamer or movie buff. Camera is weak compared to most smartphones. Big hands may have trouble holding it without accidentally tapping or swiping, especially in portrait orientation.
Other Thoughts: I bought this so I could enjoy my news feeds at the breakfast table. I soon found, though, that two apps helped me set up my home wireless network. If you intend using this to take pictures, I think you'll be disappointed, though I found it takes reasonably good video outdoors (inside... meh!). I recommend using a case cover to protect it and to prop it up on a flat surface. As a touch typist, I found the virtual keyboard difficult to use at first, but I've gotten better with practice.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: I like the overall build and design. It holds my Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 tablet snugly and securely without clips and all holes align properly. Quick and easy to slide the tablet into and out of the case. Has a solid magnetic flap that holds it together. Keyboard has useful function and arrow keys. Battery life seems long. Looks professional. Arrived in 5 business days.
Cons: Major issues -
- The keyboard keys feel mushy - though not as difficult to use as the tablet's screen keyboard, the physical keyboard is so flexible keys often don't register - especially when not on a solid surface (e.g., while held in my lap).
- No delete key.
Minor issues -
- No place to secure ear buds, charging cables, etc..
- Tablet must be used in landscape mode only and has only one position in relation to the keyboard.
- You can't charge the tablet while using the keyboard because the charging connector keeps the tablet cover from seating properly to the keyboard.
- No way to reassign keys to other functions - no software comes with the hardware.
Other Thoughts: This keyboard-cover appears to be very well designed and built - I don't travel much so probably won't test its durability on the road. Its added weight is noticeable yet reasonable (still far short of a laptop). The keyboard is very difficult for me to type on as I'm a touch typist - I've reverted to two-finger hunt-and-peck on this keyboard - this is especially noticeable when it's held in my lap where keystrokes are often not registered. I wish the cover had a pocket for my ear buds. I have a tablet instead of a more capable laptop because I like the mobility, light weight, Android OS, touch-screen, and long battery life of the tablet - I miss a physical keyboard and this product helped me overcome that obstacle (mostly). 3 eggs for the keyboard, 5 eggs for the overall design, materials, and workmanship.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Excellent design. Holds tab 3 10.1 very well - the tablet simply slides into a pouch with a simple flap that looks like it won't but absolutely does hold the tablet tightly in place - genius! All holes line up properly - easy to touch or access all tablet buttons and ports. 5 stars on the keyboard and tablet cover. Total weight with tablet: 2 lbs 3 oz.
Cons: Two eggs for the keyboard. I have to press each key EXACTLY and sometimes a couple times to make contact. The keyboard has a silicone cover over a tiny plastic keyboard - apparently to protect it from liquids, etc., but make typing very difficult for me. My hands aren't large - but I am a touch typist on a standard keyboard - I have to hunt and peck on this keyboard.
No place to hide/hold ear buds (not a real con because I wasn't expecting this - just asking the manufacturer to consider adding it please).
Other Thoughts: I absolutely love the design of this - wish it had a little pouch to contain my ear buds - otherwise a really great design - stylish and secure, light weight, feels tough. I'm not enthusiastic about the silicone over plastic keyboard - really difficult to touch type on but much easier for me than using the tablet virtual keyboard (which is why I bought this). Glad I bought this product - well worth the money spent.READ FULL REVIEW
