"not meant for continuious use"
Pros: When it works it works well. Provides ample cooling in a small footprint. Easy to operate and install.
Cons: Not a good long term product if you intend to use for over 4-5 hours a day (per Tripp Lite representative)
Overall Review: I run two portable A/C units in our server room 24/7/365 to keep ambient temps under 75. After going through a couple different portable A/C units (meant for non-commercial applications) I decided to pay a little bit more for a commercial grade cooling unit. I was impressed with the Tripp Lite product after about 6 months I purchased the second one. Shortly after purchasing the second unit the first one's blower fan in the front completely disintegrated ...it happened overnight but when I came in the following day the machine unplugged itself due to the violent shaking. I called Tripp Lite and they promptly replaced the unit. Now six months later another unit has failed, this time the problem is the upper radiator freezes up after just a few minutes of running causing the air blowing out the front to be only room temperature. So again I call Tripp Lite to see if there is a fix and the representative told me the machine is not meant to be run continuously, only for 4 to 5 hours at a time during the 'peak hours' of the day. Also the representative told me "running continuously will result in premature failure of the equipment." Further, the warranty period is only on the original purchase not the replacement they send, so within the next couple months i will be completely out of warranty. If you are looking for a cooling device and don't want to pay 3,000+ you might as well go with a cheaper non-commercial product and buy a new one every year because thatch about how long these Tripp Lite products last.
bad power supply & batter
Pros: the laptop itself functions as it should after buying a genuine dell power supply and battery.
Cons: the generic power supply stopped working almost immediately, $50 for a new dell replacement. the battery lasted about 2 months and then wouldn't hold a charge, another $50 for a new dell replacement.
Overall Review: Newegg was not helpful at all, better off just buying a new laptop
Poor customer service communication
It could be newegg's fault but I had a lot of problems cancelling an order. Lot of time wasted to get a refund. I suggest ordering directly through newegg or going somewhere else instead of dealing with PCRush. Oh and even with my account number and order number they couldn't find my order! It is incredibly hard to find competent people at PCRush apparently.
