This review is from: TRENDnet TEW-421PC 802.11g Wireless PC Card
Pros: Card and software were easy to install. Card is in an older emachines barebones laptop. Have home wireless network with netgear G router. After install, card picked up network and after authorization, was able to use internet connection
Cons: Sometimes does not connect after boot up. Card is there, software "sees" network, but it will not connect. Reboot fixes. Problem occurs 1 out of 10 boot ups. Not a big deal, just annoying.
Other Thoughts: Newegg shipping fast as usaul. Packaged like box contained glass. Gotta love Newegg.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: The card was well packaged and arrived within two days. I'm very impressed with that...
Cons: This card runs HOT. Installed this after my X800 died with no problems. Downloaded nVidia control panel after initial setup for more advanced options and card temps were at 149 deg. F no load! Started showing minor artifacts after about 30 minutes. Heatsink is inadequate even though it is on both sides of card. Wanted a low wattage draw card as psu is only 350W.
Other Thoughts: Not happy that card has no return/refund. Just replacement. I installed this card in a Dell 8400 which has an accessory card cooler (turbine type) that draws air across heatsink and out the back of the case. Unfortunately, this is inadequate. Other reviewers stated heat problem, but this is ridiculous! I shouldn't have to modify case for a fanless vid card. I've used Newegg many times in the past, but this has kinda soured me. Should have read the no return/refund a little closer. Purchasing a replacement X800 from the Dell site.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Intel Pentium 4 650 Prescott Single-Core 3.4GHz LGA 775 84W Processor BX80547PG3400F
Pros: Shipped on time as promised. Massive packaging. Nice. Easy install in a Dell 8400. Had to stick with Dell's cooling solution - which is a massive heat pipe with shrouded exhaust fan. Go with the addition of Artic paste. Well worth the extra couple of bucks. Small, but noticable improvement over the stock 530 that came with the system.
Cons: LGA pin system had me worried. No problem with install. Nothing bad to say.
Other Thoughts: Benchmark results show a huge gain. Real perception is minor but noticable. Startup is a little faster, files are found a little quicker and programs are loading up in a snap. Extra cache and a few more MHz doing the job. Very happy. Thank you Newegg!READ FULL REVIEW
