This review is from: Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 64-bit for System Builders
Pros: OK, Vista Ultimate x64 is what I have. It works extremely well with my 6GB Ram and Intel Core i7 (Vista sees all 8 cores).
I have had no problems with Vista except the annoying permission junk and the restricted accounts, etc - the norm.
Vista networking really isnt too bad if you know what you are doing... and if you really know Windows XP well, you should do fine with XP.
As far as a tech standpoint - Im a network administrator for a multi-million/year company- I don't think the regular "users" in wok environment should be using Vista without some kind of training first. If they do 1 thing they are fine with restricted permissions. However, if they are installing or using other parts of Windows forget it.... they will just get frustrated.... why? because the average person is not WILLING to learn something new and instead they just complain that something sucks because they lack the capacity to learn something new.
Sorry folks.... Windows Vista is Fast & Reliable.
Cons: the annoying permission junk and the restricted accounts, etc - the norm.
thats really it...
Other Thoughts: Before you buy something new... make sure you are WILLING to learn it. Do not buy it assuming you know everything about it just because you know XP well. If you can't bother yourself to learn and try something new dont buy this and dont criticize it. Its really not that difficult of an OS... if you can learn.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Great card, high FPS in all games running a 24" Asus LCD at full HD res. In Counter Strike Source I am getting an average of 250-350 FPS and UP TO 950 FPS Spikes. (use fps_max 1000 in console to tell the game to run up to 1000 fps)
Card is large andtakes up some of the empty room in my case... now it doesnt look so empty! (lol)
Intel i7 920 2.66GHz, EVGA GTX 260 SC 896 MB, 6GB Corsair Dominator DDR3 1600MHz, ASUS P6T Mobo, Zalman 850 Watt PSU, Xclio A380 Plus case, 2x WD 500GB hdds.
Cons: none, size is not a con if you buy the pc case you SHOULD be buying. In a high end PC you dont want a stupid micro atx case that provides no air flow and over heats!
Other Thoughts: Buy a real case!READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Intel Core i7-920 Bloomfield Quad-Core 2.66GHz LGA 1366 130W Processor BX80601920
Pros: CHEAP processor! wow, so nice so cheap!
BUS SPEED! The equivalent bus speed for the Core i7 Processors is 3.2GHz... .that says it all right there... DOMINATED. bus speed is where its at.
I get 250-550 fps on Counter Strike Source with spikes upto 950 fps. To enable Counter Strike to use your hardware use "fps_max 950" to set your max fps to 950... I had to keep going higher till I found the point that the spikes stopped.
