Pros: Works as Advertised, good speed.
Cons: Hot! This CPU runs crazy hot, easily reaching 100c with the stock heatsink and thermal paste. Replaced with A S 5-Artic-Silver-5 (fix your profanity filter newegg) and still hot, downclocked the CPU to 3.0GHz just to get the Case speaker to stop alarming every few minutes.
Had to add an additional fan to the rear of the case to ensure the hot air was exhausted.
Other Thoughts: Initially thought the Motherboard has a faulty Sensor....until I put my hand on the top rear of the case and felt the heat.
I'm concerned for the longevity of this CPU for my client.
Pros: None, at this time
Cons: Well the board is DOA, Power LED will light but it absolutely will not Power on and POST. The Secondary Fan headers are at the rear of the motherboard. Lastly the CPU retention socket is extremely tight, Be cautious when unlatching it springs back like reverse mouse trap.
Other Thoughts: Read the other reviews, in addition to DOA and Failing with 30 Days. Many Users are having inane issues with Windows 7.
I went a against my better judgement and ordered a bundle with an Asus Motherboard for my Customer, after having 3 previous AMD Boards in various forms of DOA (Including Freezing in BIOS).
Asus used to mean quality, vote with your money folks.
Pros: I've built several of the DIY Combos for clients with this board and worked great.
Cons: In addition to the folks that have gotten boards with no display output (with or without BIOS update). I received two back to back that Crashed, Froze in BIOS, lost connection to SATA and USB and one of the two display visual artifacting and discoloration at the POST screen.
Other Thoughts: These things happen but in six years of business this was a first and delayed two customers orders. Costing me time and money.READ FULL REVIEW
