This review is from: Seagate STBP12000100 12TB Business Storage 4-Bay NAS
Pros: What the Freck are these other reviewers concerned about? How about Economics 101. You pay 864$ for a 12Tera NAS, and replacement hard drives are 100$. System Works like a charm, and as advertised. Great for the home. Raid5 default, 8.2 Tera available after Raid5 partitions. If you want to spend 1000's on a Enterprise NAS and 100's for hard drive replacements, then look elsewhere.
Cons: None so Far
Other Thoughts: Took about 15-20 minutes to get up and running on my home workgroup though my netgear R6300, created shares and mapped drives on my home PC's.
The hard drives in the system are the ST3000DM001. I ordered two extra of these also as a future replacement when one fails. I suggest you do the same ! (have you ever known a hard drive not to fail after long extended use). Use the power off button on the front of the system if you do not plan to use it for extended periods. This will extend the life of your hard drives and NAS system.
