This review is from: EZVIZ Mini HD 720p WiFi Home Security Camera with Motion Detection, 130 degree View, Night Vision, Works with Alexa using IFTTT (Special Offer 12 Month Cloud Storage w/ 7 day Playback)
Pros: -Local Storage, Finally
-Ability to toggle front lights off (otherwise bright blue and red)
-Magnetic base and attachments
-Wide angle for larger viewing areas
-EZVIZ app was dead simple to use
-looks great in low light , sharp picture
Combine with IFTTT (if this then that) for homebrew automation ;like turn on sleep mode when you come home, or auto activate when you leave the home.
Cons: -Setup was clumsy (scan QR code on back, then connect to wifi , then push wifi pw to camera) this took way to many tries before it finally worked. Almost as bad as the aria fitbit scale...
Other Thoughts: -would recommend
-great alternative for home security and peace of mind
-good for tech/gadget enthusiast
-ironically have this plugged into the usb port of my Xbox one, too bad xbox's kinect camera is useless for home security
This review is from: NETGEAR 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch with 4-Port PoE (GS308P)
Pros: Dead simple layout.
Good unmanaged switch.
Metal Design, Mounts included.
POE on ports 1-4 for Voip phones, Wireless AP, or Security Cam.
Beefier power supply due to POE.
Cons: Fanless so it will be quiet, but will generate some heat.
Other Thoughts: Tested this at my home office and voip worked and conference phone as well as the Cam.
Read the notes that if you exceed the power limitation with POE the first 3 ports will work and the 4th one will be disabled.
This review is from: Zmodo Greet - Smart WiFi HD Video Doorbell
Pros: Looks great, sleek sexy design. Decent picture.
Cons: With enough force some one could steal it
Other Thoughts: On paper this thing sounds awesome.
Wire into a pre- existing doorbell, answer the door with your smart phone even if your away. Securely monitor and screen your packages delivered to your door.
The wiring was the hardest part especially if you have some old odd wiring. Finally got it to work thanks to a handy friend.
It comes with an adapter.
Played the router wifi game to get this thing to connect to my wifi was a chore as well
Picture quality was decent. Boy did this thing take pictures when the sensor was activated. Got lots of false alarm results.
Honestly the future is now and it's a great time to be alive, but I felt having this device screwed to my vinyl siding a bit much.
It worked most of the time and appears to be a decent value. The false alarms and not being able to hear the doorbell chime was something I missed hearing. Often times I would be away form my smart device
So I would be forced to go to the door anyways.
First world problems I know.
It is decent and has been graded as such.
