This review is from: Intel BOXDG45ID LGA 775 Intel G45 HDMI Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Pros: After figuring out how to make this mobo work, it works fine.
Cons: I invested at least 30 hours into this stupid motherboard to make it work simply because I had no choice. The online store I bought it from only has a 15 day return policy, and it took almost that long to get to me. So either I got it working, or it went straight in the trash, at a loss of $95 bucks.
Long story short, this motherboard comes with a floppy RAID/AHCI driver disc, BUT IT HAS NO FLOPPY PORT ON IT!!!! I tried using USB work around's, but after twenty failed attempts, I gave up.
Finally I found some info online about creating a new Windows XP Pro disc with the most current RAID drivers 'slip-streamed' onto a new BOOTABLE XP CD.
If you're pulling out your hair or simply want to smash things over the mobo, do yourself a favor and look up 'nlite'. You'll save yourself hours of frustration, anger, kicking small animals, etc.
Other Thoughts: I hate hate hate this motherboard and will never go this route again. 'Beat it to fit, paint it to match' should not apply to stuff like this.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: ASUS RAMPAGE FORMULA LGA 775 Intel X48 ATX Intel Motherboard
Pros: So many BIOS settings to tweak that you can overclock a q6600 from 2.4GHz to 3.62GHz stable, in no time. I recently upgraded to a q9650 and went from 3.0GHz to 4.2GHz by changing only a three settings, everything else is: auto.
Cons: At first the many tweakable BIOS settings was a con because I didn't know what I was doing. But after a lot of online research I found that overclocking is just simple math, plus trial and error.
The massive Bios settings may not a con, but the many days of research definitely was.
Other Thoughts: I'll keep buying ASUS motherboards due to the fact they are super easy to use and rock solid.READ FULL REVIEW
