Pros: Good Price w/ Free Shipping.
3 Year Warranty is not bad these days.
Very well boxed/packed for shipping by Newegg.
I bought 2 of these to backup my personal DVD collection to two different drives, in case of failure. Both drives run quietly and quickly 10 days after I began using them. I've transferred about 400GB to each thus far.
First thing I did was a full format (don't quick format a new drive!) and then a full CHKDSK. The formatting took about 2-3 hours for each drive and so did the CHKDSK. Not a single error though.
Sustained speed between the two drives (the OS is running off a third drive) is a steady 95MB/s that seems to burst to around 105MB/s (as reported by Vista).
Cons: 16MB cache instead of 32MB is really only a con if I wanted to use these drives for running an OS instead of simple storage.
931.5GB after NTFS format is to be expected although I always thought it would be nice if the manufacturer would make these drives like 1080GB so they'd be 1TB AFTER format.
Other Thoughts: It's scary how quickly I think I can fill these drives...would have seemed impossible a few years ago.
Don't be an idiot and expect OEM drives to come with any cables or screws!
Pros: 4gb for CHEAP with the rebate. The 12 day limit on the rebate actually made me get my rebates done fast and avoid procrastinating. I'm not really into having my computer look "cool" but wow this memory is sweet looking.
Cons: Does not come set at correct timings - although this may be for compatibility reasons.
Other Thoughts: As numerous others state, change your timings to 4-4-4-15. To achieve this I also needed to change my clock multiplier or it wouldn't boot.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Price. Performance. You can configure your system to have the fan facing pretty much any direction in order to avoid space problems considering this thing is large. My E7200 C2D 2.53ghz is OC'd to 3.16ghz and running idle at ~40C - only ~45C after a few hours of gaming.
Cons: It's big but if you are prepared it won't be a problem.
Other Thoughts: GIGABYTE GA-G31M-S2L Motherboard - at first I had the fan facing the rear exhaust fan but because my memory has tall heatsinks, it wouldn't fit. I took it off and reseated it to face the fan towards the PSU and problem solved. As others suggest, take the fan off (easily done) before installing this.READ FULL REVIEW
