Great Monitor
Pros: I'm a VFX artist and do graphic design and motion graphics day in a day out. I purchased this monitor for my studio and must say it has been wonderful to work on. Out of the box, the colors are bright, clear and wonderful. With some color optimization it has really helped make it even more wonderful to work with. I do quite a bit of animation and haven't noticed any playback issues with the picture, no lagging pixels or blurring. I played some games on it as well, and playing on a 2K resolution is very nice!
Cons: The onscreen controls are a bit annoying to work with, but it is a minor issue since you only have to fool with the controls only once in awhile.
Overall Review: If you are looking for a budget monitor with great color output and clarity, I definitely recommend this monitor.
If you do CG work, this processor rocks!
Pros: I bought this processor to speed up my rendering times in 3D Studio Max and for creating motion graphics for a project I am involved with. I will say this was worth the money and performed as good as what other VFX artists have seen. In my initial tests using the same scene to render on both this processor and the Xeon processor at work, the core i7 was faster by about 50%. If your into doing processor intensive work like VFX, this is a great processor to get for the especially for the money.
Cons: None really that I have noticed.
Overall Review: The intel HD 4600 isn't a bad integrated chip. I tested it out on the Cryengine 3 (sdk) and ran the demo map. It had decent frame rates, but nothing like a dedicated video card would give you.
