ASUS X99-DELUXE/U3.1 LGA 2011-v3 Intel X99 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 ATX Intel Motherboard
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Many, many options. Wireless built in. It actually has more options than I'm sure I'll ever use.

Cons: This board has been a nightmare, but dealing with customer service has been even worse. Along with the "forever" boot time, I continually got 3 error boxes from ASUS Setup. When I contacted their support department, he would not do anything, till I went through Microsoft, just for them to say, it's not their problem. This is their out, because if you've ever tried, you don't talk to Microsoft, without paying them. I re-installed the OS 3 times, and each time, the error message cleared, till the motherboard went into the registration process, then the errors were back. You'd think for the money, you would not have ANY problems.

Other Thoughts: After giving up on their support department, I finally found a forum, where it appears this problem is common on these v3 boards. I was able to find a fix, by going into the programs and removing the files from the chipset drivers. So, that identified it was a problem from ASUS, but what caused me to give 2 stars, was their customer service department and their attempt to get me to throw in the towel, by insisting that I get a clearance from Microsoft. I won't by ASUS again. I've shopped Newegg for over 10 years, built more than 12 computers, and this will be my last ASUS. Looks like MSI or Gigabyte will get my business.

  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: What can I say?... A i7 with 15 mb of L3 cache, cheap... nothing else to say. IT's fast!.. as expected.

Cons: None...

Other Thoughts: If I had bought the best motherboard for this processor, I'm sure it would be rocking right now!

ASUS X99-DELUXE LGA 2011-v3 Intel X99 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: It's a nice motherboard, but don't know that it's worth all that I put into it. I purchased an i7, 15 MB L3 Cache, which is a pretty fast processor.

Cons: This is about my 14th build, since my hobby started, in 2001, first through Tiger Direct, now only through Newegg. From the day I installed the chipset and drivers, I have had a message box pop up with errors. ASUS does not make it easy to get answers. All other products I've purchased, has an Active X product that scans your computer for the installed parts, ASUS wants you to jump through hoops, to get serial numbers, versions, ect... which is on the motherboard, in small writing, so you have to open the board, take out your graphics card and/or your liquid cooling.

Other Thoughts: I've always liked ASUS, but a little disappointed with the problems I'm having. I can't say they have bad customer service, I just haven' had the time, to jump through all the hoops to get all this information they need, when in it seems all they need to do, is use Active X to find out for themselves, or at least, just allow me to tell them the numbers on the error code. I registered the product, and it comes up as to what it is, just doesn't give ASUS enough info, for them to look into my problem. I can, go into the programs, and just dump the file that is causing the error messages, but I'd rather the board work the way its' suppose to.
