This review is from: ASUS MG279Q Black 27" 144 Hz 4ms (GTG) WQHD Widescreen 2560 x 1440 LED IPS Panel, Adaptive-Sync (Free-Sync), Ergonomic Professional high performance Monitor, Pivot & High Adjustable
Pros: Plugged in and had no dead pixels.
Non noticeable response time
Super sharp screen
OSD is very intuitive and easy to use with the little joystick
Cons: Some IPS glow on bottom corners but barely noticeable
When in Freesync mode the hz is capped to 90, and there is no quick way to switch back to 144hz after a game without going in OSD
Not the monitors fault but the price gouging is a sh $$ty move. This monitor is work $600 but the fake $800 cap is just for supply and demand money stealing! Shame on you Newegg!
Other Thoughts: It is almost unfair for me to review this because coming from my 5 year old Asus 1080p TN panel to this it is just ridiculous. 27 inch IPS is so fantastic and 1440p is a perfect pixel density.
Only problem is my R9 290 might start choking below 35fps in games at max settings coming up.
Witcher 3 plays at 37-45 with hair works on all settings max at 1440p, so I am barely scraping by. Crazy thing is 35fps on the monitor feels like butter smooth 60...Freesync is incredible!
