GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-USB3 AM3+ AMD 760G + SB710 HDMI USB 3.0 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
 • Verified Owner
 • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros:

Pretty

Has not had any issues yet

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: Installed in a mobile gaming rig for a customer/friend. He's not one to tinker under the hood, so I can't speak to the overclocking abilities of the board. But it's main use is online gaming, and it has endured many hundreds of hours of it without a peep.

3 out of 5 eggs Attractive Flimsy Frustrating 02/14/2013

This review is from: APEX TX-381-C Black Steel Micro ATX Tower Computer Case

Pros: Pretty
Has a handle
Inexpensive

Cons: Insubstantial (Flimsy)
Brittle
Inconvenient design

Other Thoughts: Clearly, one takes a risk when one builds an $800 rig inside of a $35 case. No, the build quality is not a triumph of utilitarian engineering. I expected that, and was not put-off by its lack of general heft (In fact, I was counting on it being lightweight, given that the finished product will be carted around by the attached handle frequently).

What I'm not okay with is broken pieces right out of the box. I was able to remove the faceplate without issue once while routing cables. The second time I took it off to install a fan in the front, one of the plastic braces that holds the handle to the top of the case came with it. As easily as it broke, I highly doubt that a replacement will be any less prone to the same issue.

It's the only decent-looking microATX case with a handle that I could find, so I intend to continue with the build. Time will tell whether my ghetto-rigged handle repair will hold.

It's worth noting that I had significant difficulty getting the fan in front of the 3.5" drive rails. It would have been impossible to do if there had been a drive installed.

There is also no room at all in between the motherboard stage and the side-panel behind it. Just a fraction of an inch would have been appreciated, so as not to have to route cables directly behind the motherboard.

Antec Performance One Series P183 V3 Black Aluminum / Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
 • Verified Owner
 • Owned For: more than 1 year

Pros: -Very attractive design
-Incredibly quiet
-All stock fans are speed-adjustable
-Front fan slots are filtered
-Dual-compartment interior for excellent heat management
-Easy drive installation
-Built-in 2.5" drive support
-Solid, precision feel in every moving part

Cons: Front door obscures an already-camouflaged power button
Front fan filters are not easily removable (incorrect manual?)
No Front fans included (No wonder it was so quiet at first!)
Front USB3 doesn't use MoBo headers (Must use rear ports)
Not much room between side panel and back of motherboard.
Both panels are difficult to align and slide in correctly.

Other Thoughts: I absolutely love this case. It's gorgeous, very quiet (even with two 120mm fans in the front), and keeps all of its innards very cool. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat just for those things.

But any time I have to turn it on (which is fairly often, as it so happens), I must open the case door and fumble for the invisible power button. And whenever I open it up to install/uninstall/troubleshoot something, the case seems to reject its own side panel, refusing to let me close it back up. I usually have to lay it on its side, and hold all of the hooks in place simultaneously as I attempt to slide it shut seven more times.

And don't get me started on having to vacuum the non-removable fan filters

*ahem* I recommend this case. It's pretty, quiet, cool, and only a MITE inconvenient.
