Pros: Replacement Motherboard working
Cons: Took too long to get replacement, and there is no advance replacement option, like some manufacturers.
So without main PC for 3 weeks total.
Replacement board sent with older bios!!? I upgraded to latest bios.
Other Thoughts: For some reason replacement board is identified as completely new hardware by Windows 7 (exact same components), and had to go thru manual activation process.
Tweaking flexibility is very low.
Could not lower CPU voltages.
Despite several adjustments, could not get turbo working in even in mild OC mode.Increased power envelops, long/short threshold timers etc, but luck.
Atleast enhanced turbo working in non OC mode after tweaking power envelops for i5 3750k.
To be fair idle power is pretty decent, in non-oc mode with 8GB, i5 3750k, Samsung 830 SSD idling at 25watts. With my pico I think I can get it around 22watt idling.
But load power much higher than necessary even in non oc mode.
This review is from: ASRock B75M LGA 1155 Intel B75 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Pros: Like the layout
Plenty of SATA port, great for NAS
Ability to undervolt,
Cons: HDMI port is so lose, mean not a snug fit, like other motherboards or tv etc.
Other Thoughts: The main issue I have with this board is, the HDMI port being very lose, not a snug connection. I tried different cables, and it is little better in the case of some cable, but never the less small movement make it come out or signal loss.
I got creative and tied that for now, but it is really problematic.
But with undervolt, I was able to bring down my full load wattage with i5 3475S processor by full 15 watts which is considerable. Reduced power as well as temp.
If not for HDMI issue, it is 5 star..
Pros: Very good price for Z77 chipset Fullsize MB, atleast when I bought it
MB Layout clean and neat
Cons: Motherboard failed in in few months. Despite I bought this close to year ago, I only got to chance to retire my old rig and install this 6 months ago. Bios adjustments are limited.
Suddenly one day morning, nothing shows up on the monitor. I went thru usual routines,
1. Memory changed to single channel, single stick with different slots etc.
2.Reset CMOS, remove CMOS battery etc
3. Swapped memory with another working system.
4. Swapped the Powersupply(despite all voltages are fine).
5. Disconnected everything except power and CPU. Still no go.
6. Added MSI PCI-E graphics card instead of onboard, still no go.
7. Tested CPU on another MB, which turned out fine.
This is my first MB which failed so quickly. I have built 100+ systems for myself, friends, company I used to work for.
I am used to undervolt all my PC at home and run at stock speed, but this MOBO does not have any option for that.
Limited USB 3.0 ports, and dinky heatsink on intel chipset.
Other Thoughts: To be fair, I have not RMAed this board yet. I will see how fast they would respond, and quality of replacement board.READ FULL REVIEW
