Pros: A nice little monitor for what it is.
I love the extremely thin bezel and brush finish.
I purchased this monitor to replace a trusty, but very heavy Sony GDM-FW900 which was sold recently after seven years of ownership.
The order was placed with Newegg on 05/14/2014 and I had this in-hand and setup by the 16th....in NC.
That's must be some kind of record.
The monitor has very good true blacks and vivid colors overall.
They're vibrant without being over-saturation.
Mine had no dead pixels. I did not have any issues with the instability noted by some on the base. I did notice as I was examining it prior to setting it up, that the data ribbon in the base sat just a bit too close for comfort to the ends of the screws. It wasn't actually touching...just closer than I'd like and a potential for rubbing. That was easily rectified by doubling a bit of electrical tape and sliding it between the screw ends prior to tightening the screws which support the base. There was an ever-so-slight tendency towards blanding during gaming in the standard mode which went away with the movie setting. It's not a bad monitor as this price-point.
Cons: Wish the control buttons were illuminated...the monitor must be placed in a well lit area or use a light source to see buttons for adjustment.
Wish the internal speakers could be turned off when using HDMI. I haven't found anything to suggest they can.
Horizontal and vertical screen position adjustment seem non-existent...not a deal-breaker as most driver suites consist of this feature.
Other Thoughts: I cannot complain about a lack of features given the very small price for this monitor.
It does what it's supposed to do... that's give a nice screen for browsing and video.
Pros: Great performance.
Average noise level.
Cons: None for the card...
Other Thoughts: A bit disappointed at the rebate experience.
After months of looking at the link saying the rebate check was being issued, I called. I was told to wait an additional month. Still no rebate. Be prepared. This was my first time dealing with PNY on rebates. It may be my last based on outcome.
Pros: For the price vs performance on socket 2011, the I7-3820 simply cannot be beat. I coupled it with the Biostar TP X79 and 16GB of Patriot Series7 and two Palit GTX560Ti for one heck of an inexpensive....but very potent gaming rig. It absolutely demolishes every game I 'throw' at it. Not a hiccup anywhere. I have a mild o/c of 4.1 GHz. There was no need for anymore at this time.
Cons: Not really a con...but Intel did not lower the price to compensate for not shipping a fan with this processor. That's not really a big deal though. More about principal.
Other Thoughts: No need to purchase a new fan if you already have CM 212+. Just get the lower retention bracket pn# RR-ACCY-2011-R1.READ FULL REVIEW
