DELL Desktop PC OptiPlex 780 Core 2 Duo 2.93 GHz 8 GB 1.5 TB HDD Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit

Pros: Purchased 5 of these for work. No complaints. Win7 Pro really saved me some time setting them up.

Cons: Bloat is bloat and will always be a thing. Not too bad here though

Other Thoughts: Quick shipping too

COOLMAX ZU Series ZU-900B 900W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: It works! Was a quick and easy install. Not sure the deal with the little carry cases that power supplies come with these days, kinda silly. Fancy box too

Price played a big part in buying this vs something else

Cons: Not fully modular

Other Thoughts: My 600 watt couldn't keep up so I went with this 900. So far no regrets.

NZXT H230 White ATX Mid Tower Computer Case Includes 1 x 120mm Front, 1 x 120mm Rear 2 x USB 3.0

  • neweggOwned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: Everything about this case was easy. It's a tool free case and all of the screws are thumb screws. No sharp edges and the contrasting colors look great. Wire management is done just like all the pro level cases (behind the board). Win win! Also very quiet

Cons: I'd add a floppy/media card slot. It's the only thing I felt that was missing from this otherwise perfect case. It wasn't a deal breaker though.

Other Thoughts: Make sure your board has enough usb3 headers. This case will take up 1. My board only had 1 but it came with its own floppy disk drive slot adapter that I couldn't use for two reasons. No header, no floppy drive slot. Instead I used the CNC to fix one of the optical drive blanks and mounted the USBs there. USB3 to USB2 adapter and I was good to go.
