G.SKILL Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-1866C9D-8GAB
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Installed, works great. Used in a stock build, no OC. Didn't have to tweak any settings to get rated speeds.
Nice and stable, machine stays on for weeks at a time, sleeping here and there.

Cons: na

Other Thoughts: Bought more for capacity than speed, so can't comment on that. Games that ran fine before still run fine, more capacity helps for running VMs and such.

5 out of 5 eggs Great InkJet replacer 05/08/2015

This review is from: Xerox Phaser 6010/N 600 x 600 dpi USB Color Laser Printer

Pros: Prints fast, reliable, simple.
Is NOT an ink jet that will dry out and become a paper-weight after not being used for a couple weeks.

Cons: None really, but if being picky, the exterior is super plain and brings back memories of hardware from Windows 95 days. But for how great it at being just a fundamental printer, the appearance is suitable.

Other Thoughts: After going through 2 big-name brand, expensive inkjet printers with dried/fried print heads in under 1 year, we decided to test the Laser waters. We will never go back to InkJet world.

ASUS RT-N16 Wireless Router 802.11b/g/n up to 300Mbps DD-WRT Open Source support with USB Storage, Printer And Media Server
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: more than 1 year

Pros: Great specs, awesome when DD-WRT installed.
Wireless capable of 300 Mbit.
After replacing bad cap, its back to running rock solid at 300 Mb.

Cons: After about 18 months, router exhibited odd behavior. Wireless would cut out while streaming HD vid, would lock up occasionally and require hard restart. Finally, it stopped turning on (would turn on, blink lights, then shut off).

Disassembled, found bulging 680uF cap. Removed & replaced, back up and running now, as good as new.

Other Thoughts: Disclaimer: I have an HD Homerun Prime, and this router very reliably streamed HD cable content (10-30 Mbit) over wireless for hours on end, for about 12 months. This may/may not be the extreme case of constant wireless usage intended for this router. If I have to replace the cap every 1.5 to 2 years, fine. The hardware specs are awesome enough and the fix relatively easy enough that I'm only knocking off 1 egg.
