SAPPHIRE 100311-3L Radeon HD 6970 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Card is very stable, quiet, and stays very cool (59C full load).
Was a slight (15%) improvement over my old 5870 card.
Is able to handle 5040x1050 with 3 monitors but I had to turn down settings to medium from a stable ultra mode to get decent frame rates (pretty much expected unless you crossfire 2 of these). Handles 3360x1050 (iz3d monitor 3d mode) perfectly on all games >40fps

Cons: None so far. Drivers are generally stable (no more grey screens of death).

Other Thoughts: I like the cooler on this card but I do wish it was designed to push all the heat out of my case. It's mostly open on both ends (since it's a double fan model) so most of the heat pulled from the memory and voltage chips are pumped back into the case. Again, this is not a con, just the nature of a double fan cooler, which does work better than a single "exhaust" type cooler. Just understand it will heat up any components behind or above the video card and the case itself (probably less than a few degrees).

MOTOROLA TZ700 Roadster In-car Speakerphone with MotoSpeak / Stream Audio to Car Speaker (89423N) – Retail Packaging
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Very stylish. Supports 2 devices simultaneously (very cool). Syncs well and doesn't sync when you don't want it to.
Decent streaming sound quality to FM (although my car's antennae is 1 ft away, embedded in my windshield). Not sure how good it would work on the older style ones mounted in the rear of a car.
Pretty decent voice recognition. Noone complains of call quality (which I'm guessing means it sounds decent on the other end).
Voice to text and text to voice feature is VERY nice when driving. I love this feature (and it tags the outgoing msg that it was using motovoice so if it says something awful the person knows why).

Cons: Battery drains quickly if transmitting FM (about 4 days of light use to/from work) and then reports "low battery". This seems to be a little better now that it's summertime and the battery gets heated all day.
Sometimes there is a delay between pressing voice command and when the device is actually "listening" causing it to sometimes miss the first word or two (unless you just wait a second or two every time you use the voice features).
Sometimes wind noise will make it totally misunderstand what I'm saying (although speaking very loudly at it usually works).

Other Thoughts: Voice commands don't work on droid when the phone is locked (this is true of any handsfree device I've tried, but particularly annoying if your driving). I have VPN setup on my phone so it locks every time I sit it down. The solution I've come up with is to set the autolock to 30 mins and I've just gotten in the habit of using the side button to manually lock it throughout the day.
It also doesn't like other headsets at all. If you regularly use a BT headset, make sure it's turned off as you enter your car or it will not sync your phone and motorola device.

TRENDnet RB-TV-IP110WN 640 x 480 MAX Resolution RJ45 SecurView Wireless N Internet Camera
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: less than 1 day

Pros: I own 1 other 110wn and a pair of 100n trendnet cameras. They are pretty good (the 100n has incredible low lux picture and the 110wn has great framerate, 5-15fps and sound built in). The 100n has lower framerate (2-5fps over internet)

Cons: This unit is defective. The video freezes and then becomes unresponsive (java applet shows white box). Does not stream to phone although my other cameras do fine. I tried both wireless and ethernet and it still does the same. The network is setup and I'm able to change all settings (over wifi or ethernet). I can even reboot it and I flashed firmware but it still locks up. My retail 110wn does not do this, it's rock solid. I took a chance on a reburbished unit since I spent around 70$ on my last one but there is obviously a reason they are selling for 30$ ea. Buyer beware, there doesn't seem to be any quality control on the reburbs.

Other Thoughts: I'm going to call Newegg and do something I rarely have to do... RMA a purchase. Thank goodness for the standard return policy and Newegg's excellent customer service. I'm positive they will take care of me as always. I'm just disappointed that I won't be getting a 2nd 110wn to play with (cause this is definitely gonna be a refund). Oh well, I've bought thousands of $$ worth of stuff from Newegg and it's very rare I get burned so chalk it up to bad luck.
