Pros: Easy to install. Worked with Windows 10 Pro (64-bit). speedtest.comcast.net shows 65-70Mbps with Blast! service. Copying 4K file between my computer and NAS (gigabyte) clocked at 25MB/s.
Cons: It was not plug and play. I had to go to tp-link website to download Windows 10 driver.
Other Thoughts: Windows network adapter showed 175-263. I did not pay much attention because that number is not throughput.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Board looks like solid built with beautiful design. It probably has more ports than any other z170 board. 2x M.2 is nice. 3 PCI-E 3.0 is must have for GPU SLI (shared bandwidth); RAID, 6 SATA3 (one disabled when M.2 is occupied), 2 SATA for optical drives are all better options than competitors.
Cons: I cannot give it five-star because of the DIMM problem I encountered and echoed by another reviewer. I purchased G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR4-2133 2x8GB for this board. According to memory list posted by Gigabyte, I should install the 2 DIMMs in ddr4_1 and ddr4_2. That caused BIOS POST error SS. I tried to put one DIMM in any slot except ddr4_1 and got same error. The only slots that allowed boot is either ddr4_1 or ddr4_1 + ddr4_3. When I check MIT status, DIMMs were shown under 3 and 4. I have the latest firmware F3. After G.Skill confirmed it mother board issue, I sent it back to Gigabyte and received repaired board. All 4 DIMMs are running well now. This is hardware issue one.
Update on Dec 19, 2015: I lowered its rating to 1-star because I also experience issue with onboard graphic HD 5500. I understand HDMI is 1.4, meaning 4K at 30Hz. I was able to connect my Acer B286HK via HDMI and did 4K at 30Hz. Although Gigabyte claims DisplayPort is 1.2 spec, I could only do 4K at 30Hz via DP 1.1. If I select DP 1.2, screen turns blank. I had to link it via HDMI to go back to Windows 10. Because I did not want to send the mother board to Gigabyte for another repair (takes a month and $20 shipping), I bought a EVGA GTX960 and successfully did 4K at 60Hz. It's not a cable issue - I tried 4 different brands of DP cables. This is hardware issue 2.
Other Thoughts: Even if price is right ($149 now compared to what I paid for, $189), I cannot recommend this board. I have seen so many people complaining about RAM in newegg or other forums. I want to tell them, return it to seller for refund or send it back to manufacturer for repair. This is not BIOS or OS issue. This IS poor quality control. I was very disappointed.READ FULL REVIEW
