J-Bar Rack HD Kayak Carrier Canoe Boat Surf Ski Roof Top Mount Car SUV Crossbar
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: The typical design is good. I have a pair of Thule's - same design. Love them

Cons: The quality is poor. The mounts don't work on my Xterra (and won't work on the Frontier either. There isn't enough distance on the threads. Also the mounting plates are very weak and I can't imagine holding my 40 lb kayak on these let alone in wind or on the highway. I simply can't trust it. I won't even give these away because I don't want to be behind someone using these on the highway.

Other Thoughts: Again, I have a set of Thule's for 5 yrs + and they are amazing.

J-Bar Rack HD Kayak Carrier Canoe Boat Surf Ski Roof Top Mount Car SUV Crossbar

Pros: The JBar is a perfect design for carrying a canoe or kayak.
I have a set of Thules and they are awesome so when I saw these as a deal, I jumped... Oops.

Cons: I have an Xterra and there is no way they will work on my roof. The hardware that comes with it doesn't make sense and I can't imagine how it would make sense on all but a few vehicles. The hardware is made of weak metal, so even if you did get it attached to your roof tracks, I wouldn't trust a 12' or larger kayak or canoe on them in a slight wind let alone at 50 miles an hour.

Other Thoughts: spend the money on a better brand.

ASUS RT-N66U Dual-Band Wireless-N900 Gigabit Router, DD-WRT Open Source support, IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n, IEEE 802.3/3u/3ab
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: more than 1 year

Pros: Dual band with options to set up guest networks on both channels.
Very easy to use interface. I have a USB printer and shared 2T hard drive.

Cons: be sure to get the updated firmware. Make sure your sharing settings are protecting you from sharing to the WAN!!! yes, make sure you don't have your USB drive or computers shared with the great beyond. Its possible on this beast.

Other Thoughts: I am more than confident in this router. I bought this Feb 2013 - an early adopter and I have had no trouble. It has not dropped signals and it has been rock solid after power outages etc. This is built very well.
