Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model BL2KIT12864AA1065

Pros: Looks cool, runs cool. It reduced my loading times in oblivion from 30 seconds to just 3 seconds! And also in TF2 it would take me 2 minutes to get into a server and now I only have to wait 45 seconds at most until I get to blow guys up.

Cons: It's running at 800mhz in my system instead of 1066 but that's my fault for not choosing a capable motherboard. At least I'm future proofed somewhat on the RAM part of things though.

Overall Review: Crucial Ballistix 2x1gb DDR2-1066 at 5-7-7-25, E6850 overclocked to 3.22ghz, 2 XFX 256mb 8800s in SLI, Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro 7, EVGA 680i SLI LT

Good.. while it worked

Logitech G5 7 Buttons Tilt Wheel USB Wired Laser 2000 dpi Mouse
Logitech G5 7 Buttons Tilt Wheel USB Wired Laser 2000 dpi Mouse

Pros: Very great mouse for FPS gaming during the time it worked. Really did boost my K:D ratio in pretty much all FPS games coming from an old and skippy Microsoft Optical Mouse. Great form factor, very comfortable in my hand. I use the 'resting' grip, or whatever is the opposite of the 'claw' grip and it fits in my teenaged hands. Weights are kind of a gimmick but are cool if you are a really hardcore kind of shooter I guess. Extra thumb button and sensitive buttons add more options, which is great (I rarely used the sensitive buttons though.) When I had to send it back in for replacement, it at least cost less with shipping than going to the store and buying another one.

Cons: The feet on the bottom wore off quickly and I had to buy replacements from slicksurf (which actually lasted until the very end when I had to send it back.) Middle mouse button is a bit hard to push down but eventually you can get it. The cord is made of some fibrous material which starts to get frizzy after a while. The indention below the thumb buttons gets the paint worn off after a year or so of use and leaves an unsightly streak. This was only the start of my problems. After about 1.5 years of use, the left mouse button started behaving erratically and misclicking occasionally. That occasionally turned into quite frequently even later. Google 'G5 left mouse button faulty', you'll see I'm not alone. Supposedly it's because Logitech uses cheap parts, primarily I got cheaped out on the microswitch for the left mouse button as all the other buttons worked fine.

Overall Review: From the first support email to the new mouse finally arriving, it took nearly two months from November to now to get a new G5! Come on Logitech, where's that renowned customer support I keep hearing about. I mean I know it was bad that I decided to get support right before holiday season, but jeez. They even had me send mine in, while I see other people just get sent a new mouse without them having to ship anything back to Logitech. Oh well, at least I got a shiny new G5 that will hopefully actually last a significant amount of time, and it has two thumb buttons now too! (my old one was purchased from the Navy Exchange and was the old model with one thumb button.)

Still works

Western Digital Black WD7501AALS 750GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Got this drive in '09, to this day it's still working just as when I got it.

Cons: Out of warranty already, but given that it's lasted 6 years, what's another 6?

Overall Review: Meanwhile I have a Seagate 3TB I got in '12 that I constantly worry about having fail on me.

ASUS Laptop Intel Pentium T4400 4GB Memory 320GB HDD NVIDIA GeForce GT 320M 15.6" Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit K50ID-X1

Pros: +Tested out a few games, with some pleasantly unexpected results (numbers pulled from FRAPs): @Batman: Arkham Asylum- Can run at max settings, but at 15-25 FPS which is unplayable for me. At Medium, runs at 20-45 which is much better. @League of Legends: Runs at High settings with Medium shadows at 25-60 FPS (25 during teamfights) @Dead Space: Runs maxed out, no AA & Vsync at 40-80 FPS @Portal, Half-life 2 EP.2: Both run maxed out at 30-60 FPS w/AA, Vsync @City of Heroes: Can run at maxed settings w/AA, but dips to about 8-20 FPS in Grandville, the laggiest zone. Running at high with minimal AA, goes up to 15-20 in Grandville and 30-50 FPS otherwise. As you can see, this thing runs near anything at high(est) settings, which I completely did not expect! +Keyboard is soft, but tactile enough +Screen is bright & vibrant (actually clearer than my desktop LCD!) +Some of the bloatware is useful (an app w/4 battery mode options, webcam app etc) +Running out of space, more to

Cons: -Some of the bloatware is just bloatware -On first start up, takes quite a while to load (Windows 7 has to unload and set up everything first) -Touchpad is sticky, but becomes smooth as it gets oil from fingers -Too shiny/glossy for its own good, collects fingerprints like nothing (fixed by a wipedown with your shirt, etc) -Pentium t4400 w/1MB cache hinders multitasking somewhat (had to wait for comp to catch up while installing multiple programs) -Exhaust near the back gets a bit hot (not too worryingly hot though, even while gaming) -5400 RPM drive also bottlenecks performance -No drivers for 320M on Nvidia website yet (supposedly will come out later in March) -1366x768 is a weird resolution (some old games like Half-Life 1 will not run at this resolution) -Battery life is typical of this kind of performance laptop, which is to say, bad (1.5 hours gaming at first with Performance mode, halfway thru switched to Entertainment mode. I'd say normal use you'd ge

Overall Review: *To all those people who are posting reviews w/out even having the frakking product in their hands: Stop. If you don't even own the product, you are not qualified to review it, simple as that. So stop posting reviews and taking up space, no one likes that and it helps no one (you people know who you are) HOPEfully the helpfulness of this review will compensate somewhat *Shipping was Fedex 2day, it indeed got here in 2 business days (shipped Monday, arrived 12PM Wednesday) +More Pros: +There is an SD card reader below the touch pad which I didn't notice before +All the heat is exhausted out the back, so the palmrest is nice and cool +Comes with a full numpad +One of the best warranties out there -More Cons: -Moderately heavy -Webcam not so great -Hard drive is split into three partitions, one of which is a hidden 14GB one which is there for seemingly no reason *Overall, if you are looking for a relatively cheap gaming laptop, this is a VERY strong co

MSI GeForce GTX 260 896MB GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Video Card N260GTX-T2D896 OC
MSI GeForce GTX 260 896MB GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Video Card N260GTX-T2D896 OC

Pros: PRICE. This is the cheapest GTX 260 you can get (well it was the cheapest when I bought it.) And it's not a 'you-get-what-you-pay-for' dilemma, either: it comes in overclocked already at 620 core/1080 memory (2160 effective)/1296 shader. As a lot of other people said, you can effortlessly push it farther, and I got 700 core/1200 memory (2400 effective)/1400 shader with ntune! Not bad for the cheapest you can get, and it stays stable too- FurMark for 22 minutes was stable w/1024x768 windowed, EXTREME burning mode, 16xMSAA. And of course it can play Crysis on high settings, I got 6 hours stable in it (haven't tried very high yet due to Vistaids DX10 exclusiveness.) Finally, fan noise is not an issue- I have it at 70% and don't notice it but it's probably cause I use headphones all the time, but with them off, the fan itself doesn't make any noise like whining or whatever, it just sounds like lots of air moving.

Cons: It can get uncomfortably hot- the above FurMark reached and stayed at 80C with the fan at 70%, I personally wouldn't have the fan go any lower than that if you plan to OC. Also, Crysis Warhead got up to 85C on the final boss fight, which is kindof bad but other times it just stayed at 70-80C. And this thing is a fracking behemoth, being thicker and longer than my old 8800GT SLi set up, you will have to reposition some hard drives, but for me I only have two hard drives so it wasn't a problem.

Overall Review: FPS Results: Crysis & Crysis Warhead, All high settings, 1440x900: 20-40 FPS Left 4 Dead, everything MAX (incl. AA, AF, all of that), 1440x900: 60 FPS consistently[note: Vsync caps your FPS so it's possible to go way higher than this without it but I don't see the point] Everything else: who cares but it will run it I bet you my life with at least high settings. Just buy this card and be ready for reconstructive surgery because this card will punch you in the jaw so hard with its greatness it'll feel good.

Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 - Core 2 Duo Conroe Dual-Core 3.0 GHz LGA 775 65W Processor - BX80557E6850
Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 - Core 2 Duo Conroe Dual-Core 3.0 GHz LGA 775 65W Processor - BX80557E6850

Pros: This thing is pretty darn nice! It runs all my games with no hiccups or stuttering, and I get an average of 70FPS on TF2 with it, can run Crysis fairly smoothly on all high settings + no AA, and pretty much run almost everything at high or maxed settings. Core 2 Duos also have the penchant of running cooler than older CPUs and moreso with my Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro 7 so that's good if you wanna overclock (and I did, but played it safe at 3.22ghz, and honestly I don't think I need any more than that). It runs at ~42c load and ~33c idle, so you can clearly see that I could easily push this thing further (but I prefer to at least have my computer living in peace and harmony for at least a few months in case I screw anything up). This is the best dual core you can get from Intel that's not a Core 2 Extreme.

Cons: Only a few- the heatsink&fan mounting sucks a huge one, especially with a beastly big heatsink like the Freezer Pro 7, but it only takes a few minutes of your time (I'm impatient). And UPS sucks for shipping, it took upwards of TWO WEEKS for all my parts to get to my doorstep, but I guess that's my fault since I ordered too late into the season and had to endure two holidays (Christmas and New Years) with no computer goodies. And price, but you pay high end if you want high end.

Overall Review: On the dual core versus quad core, this can be a hard decision when the e6850 and q6600 are basically the same price. But unless you are one of those overclocking maniacs or like to do Folding@Home alot, I'd say get the E6850 because not too many apps and games don't have support for quad cores so I'd say 2 faster cores are faster than 4 slower cores right now. And since this thing is temperature efficient, you can easily catch up to quad cores later through overclocking.
