BenQ GW2765HT Black 27
  • Owned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: Very deep colours, 0 backlight bleed, good viewing angles, sturdy yet maneuverable stand, 0 dead pixels

Cons: This isn't a huge con but its worth mentioning; the monitor is still quite bright on 0% brightness, which can cause some eye strain if you're using it in a dark room. Luckily, they've added a "low blue light" mode to somewhat counter this problem. Although I use F.lux personally

Other Thoughts: This is the best monitor I've ever seen or used, and I work in IT and deal with monitors all the time. I use an HP ZDisplay at work and it doesn't even compare to the vibrant, rich, deep colours that this BenQ delivers

BenQ GW2765HT Black 27
  • Owned For: less than 1 day

Pros: Beautiful, vibrant colours, absolutely 0 backlight bleed, amazing viewing angles, fully adjustable stand, 1440p gives you sooo much real estate.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The menu buttons are somewhat tricky to use as they are on the back of the monitor, but I will rarely be using them anyway so its not a con.

GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-UD5H-BK LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

  • Owned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: Fantastic build quality, tons of SATA ports, power, reset, cmos reset hardware buttons, looks great, PCI-E slots are double spaced so your SLI configuration can breathe.

Cons: The board was by default over volting my 4790k HUGELY, it was giving it upwards of 1.45v when it was turbo boosting, which was causing my PC to shut down shortly after windows booted. I'm not sure why it was giving my CPU so much juice but manually setting the CPU voltage to 1.1v fixed the problem.

Other Thoughts: I've got my 4790k stable at 4.5ghz with 1.165v, not too bad if you ask me!
