Pros: Much faster than platter hard drvie
No fuss, just works
Cons: Not quite as fast as Sandforce drives buy way more reliable
Other Thoughts: 2 weeks without incident on 0002 firmware. This replaced a Vertex 3 for which 2 of their 4 firmwares caused BSOD's repeatedly. I would rather trade a bit of speed for a system that doesn't crash. Crucial has won my respect. Speed without reliability is no speed at all.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Works as expected when working
Cons: Terrible support
Other Thoughts: Would be 5 stars if the card actually worked. Intermittent desktop corruption. The main issue is support. HIS says 2 to 4 weeks waiting for a new card.. A company with good support would take your credit card and ship you a new card immediately or as soon as the received the old card back.
Take a gamble, buy an HIS. If it works great. If not, kiss your system goodbye as you wait for them to get you a replacement. Spend an extra $30 with a manufacturer who won't leave you hanging for up to a month with an unusable system.
Cons: OCZ Technical Support
Firmware 2.06 causes BSOD for many users and no fix as of this date.
Other Thoughts: OCZ Technical support is not very good, at least through the online process.
Many users, including myself are experiencing random BSOD with the 2.06 firmware. As of this date, I have been unable to find a fix. The firmware can not be downgraded so RMA is the only option.
Even though many users in many forums are experiencing this issue, OCZ had not officially recognized the issue and provided a concrete solution to fix the issue.
I'm using a Asus P67 WS Revolution motherboard. There should be no issues with compatibility with Intel's latest offering yet there is.
When I had the 2.02 firmware, I had to enable hotblug in my bios to get the drive working correctly. That is no big deal. Before I updated the firmware, I loved the drive. Not a single issue. Always fast, no BSOD's. Ran nightly sessions of Prime95 for over a month with no stability problems.
Then with firmware 2.06 I essentially have a brick drive that randomly BSOD's every 6 to 36 hours.
