This review is from: Belkin NFC Enabled HD Bluetooth Music Receiver for Wireless Audio Playback - G3A2000
Pros: Simple device, so a short list will suffice.
I have used this with phones, tablets, laptops, and even a custom build nano computer.
1. Easy setup
2. Easy pairing
3. Connection never drops
5. High quality audio
Cons: No optical cable is included. I do not mind overall since not everyone has a need for one, but honestly, a toslink is not that expensive. That is all.
Other Thoughts: I am impressed, which is not very common. Belkin is a favorite brand of mine for several components and cables. This was no exception to the reputation they earned over the past.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: SAMSUNG Pro 16GB microSDHC Flash Card Model MB-MGAGB/AM
Pros: The pro list is short due to the simplicity of this component.
I used it in a smart phone, and needed high capacity and high performance to ensure good media and picture taking performance. I have been pleased with the results so far, and have had no regrets.
1. Good price point
2. Reliable. This thing takes the abuse of drops, knocks, and even (unfortunately) water.
3. Solid performance. I have noticed a 25% increase in picture taking rates with this installed.
4. Capacity. Flexible capacities to fill any need.
5. Brand reputation. While not necessarily a result of this product alone, Samsung is known to be a reputable, and consistent memory producer for solid state products.
Cons: The con list is, not surprisingly for Samsung products, short.
Other Thoughts: Samsung is a reputable memory and component manufacturer. I opt for Samsung when I want reliability, performance, and consistency. While a moderate premium is paid for their components, I have yet to have a regret doing so. This card was used in a smart phone, and as such, needed to be high performance, reliable, and affordable. I have had great luck with Samsung products in the past, and this product appeared to provide the same. I was pleased to read the reviews that gave me confidence.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Overall, I have been extremely pleased with the performance and stability of this controller. The online user interface allows for nearly every feature to be adjusted, new arrays to be added, and online changes of arrays. Along with that comes the benefits of online firmware, bios, and user interface updating. You DO need to restart the computer after. There is a backup firmware stored in case of emergency that the controller will default to.
Performance is unimaginable. I currently use 2 1Gb nics teamed, allowing for nearly 200MB/s throughput with large files, or compressed files. I have never fully saturated it, until purchasing this controller. Using only 4 drives in raid 6 (limited budget on drives for now, but huge expansion planned in the future), the link was fully saturated. HD Tune testing showed average performance to be around 250MB/s. Peak performance is also impressive. I played around with it, and using a 6 drive raid 0 hit 400 MB/s, not bad for 6 500 GB drives.
Cons: So far, only one, and it is not related to the controller itself, rather, their documentation. It is poor at best. You will likely not need it since the user interface is so simple to learn, yet some advanced features do take online research to fully understand. Connectivity documentation was also another frustration for me. Neither the SuperMicro or Areca websites made it clear what cables and settings to use to take advantage of I2C features on the CSE846-TQ. Not a huge issue, as it wound up being straight forward, but still HIGHLY preferable to be honest, as not everyone has the same passion for hardware, and desire to experiment.
The standard sideband is easy, and configured by default on both controller and enclosure. Just use the appropriate cables.
Other Thoughts: This is by far the best hardware purchase I have made in a long time. Performance, reliability, and features make this a top-notch card. If you are looking for maximum performance, need remote management features, expandability, stability, and reliability, this is the card for you. Plus, unlike other major enterprise controller brands, you do NOT need to pay for licenses to use special features such as extra enclosures, or raid levels. They are included by default.
Now to get the 4 port Intel Gigabit NIC to accompany this... That will send network storage performance through the roof. :)
Recommended, by far.
