My first time...EASY

GIGABYTE GA-X38-DQ6 LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Ultra Durable 2, Ultra Cooling Intel Motherboard
GIGABYTE GA-X38-DQ6 LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Ultra Durable 2, Ultra Cooling Intel Motherboard

Pros: This was my first motherboard purchase, to be used in building my "enthusiast" level PC. Not a hitch installing my Conroe 6850 CPU or aftermarket cooler. Crossfire ATI pci-e cards slid in without effort. Vista installed from CD-boot with no issues. Makes me want to build another one. Connectivity to last for a LONG time. How many SATA drives can a guy fit in a case anyway?

Cons: Gigabyte MOB management software has yet to work with vista. I am in the process of attempting to contact company for some help with this. BIOS updates require some third party software to download and install...seems cumbersome, but maybe its always this way (this was my first try)

Overall Review: Easy to work with board, well laid out. Plenty of connections. Now the lag on Supreme Commander isn't my fault!

cool is the word

GIGABYTE GH-PCU22-VG 105mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler
GIGABYTE GH-PCU22-VG 105mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler

Pros: This baby keeps my conroe 6850 CPU under 25 degrees celcius even at the most extreme gaming limits. Quiet (though my other five case fans likely are drowning out its noise) and pretty (blue LED's).

Cons: instruction manual is useless. Looked online at forums where other's shared their installation problems. Once I figured it out, locked into place without a hitch (though the force needed to do this for a first time builder was very nerve racking).
