This review is from: BIOSTAR A780L3C AM3 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Pros: great price for a MB for a budget build. had legacy IDE/PATA controller to use older hard drive that was big enough and new enough to still use for a replacement build for an outdated athlon xp system. HAd enough connections on board for everything such as USB 2.0 and vga. supports 16GB memory with only 2 slots so i put in 8GB total. Bios seems already up to date and is very user friendly. seems like everything is laid out right except i am not using any of the slots such as PCI or PCIe's which may interefere with a larger video card if i would ever need one but this isnt for games so ai m not worried about that. supposrt AM3 processor which is older technology but good price for replacement. 4 SATA slots for devices.
Cons: only sata 3gb, no usb 3.0, only vga not both vga and dvi or HDMI. really small compact board.
Other Thoughts: does what its suppose to do and has enough for the replacement i needed it for on a bugdet build. this board and AM3 will be discontinued soon.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: LOGISYS Computer PS480D2 480W ATX12V Power Supply
Pros: Had all the connections i need and will need for now and way more power than needed, but i alwaysover buy wattage and you cant beat it for the price. also had a few leagcy molex peripheral connections for legacy drives to use for troubleshooting diagnostics and getting data off old drives as well as adding any more fans if mb doesnt have enough connections. fits great in the case and has 2 fans on it. plenty of power for alot of applications and will consider again in future if need a replacement for a budget build.
Cons: only has 2 SATA connections so after a HDD and Optical Drive you cant reallly add anymore unless get an add on card if your MB has enough/the right slot for it.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: retail cpu so it had heatsink and fan and thermal paste. does a good job for this build application. it was recogniized right away and hasnt been strained yet although havent ran it through any tests or overclocking and probably wont for a basic build that this was needed for. it all fit together nicely. 64bit
Cons: older technology of 45nm instead of 32nm or lower. only 512kb cache per corer instead of 1mb nowadays.
Other Thoughts: wsill have to see if i can safely unlock it or overclock but at this point i have no need for more speed or cores. ifi build a new one i may meddle with this one.READ FULL REVIEW
