G.SKILL Ares Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin PC RAM DDR3 2400 (PC3 19200) Desktop Memory Model F3-2400C11D-16GAB

Pros: High end memory at a standard tier price. CAS11@2400 > CAS10@2133 Here is the equation for figuring out actual latency and not just the CAS rating... (CL Divided by Ghz) 2400@CL10 - 10 / 1.2 = 8.33ns 2133@CL9 - 1.066 = 8.44ns 2400@CL11 - 11 / 1.2 = 9.16ns <-- This kit 2133@CL10 - 10 / 1.066 = 9.38ns 2133@CL11 - 11 / 1.066 = 10.31ns That said, while sure, CAS10@2400 would have been better it would have also costed me about 60$ more for this 32gb kit which I got on sale 20$ off. As for 2133@CL9, it might be faster than this kit in some workloads it is also much more expensive, it also has less peak throughput so while more expensive it's also slower in some (most) workloads. I should mention, I have an i7 4770k and at the end of the day RAM timings are not a huge deal for a Haswell system with a discrete GPU. The thing about this kit was while it was on sale here on Newegg it was the 3rd most least expensive kit on PcPartPicker, only 3$ more than the cheapest 1600Mhz kit and for that price I couldn't justify NOT getting the better memory. I have all 4 of my motherboard slots full of this stuff, 32gb, and to install it all I did was turn my old ram down to it's lowest timings, shutdown, replace it with this, power on, enable XMP timings, reboot, and I was done. I haven't ran any memory tests but I've been doing some pretty heavy workloads (compiling huge projects, photogrammetry, loading the entire UE4 Kite Demo, running multiple VMs) and my system has been rock solid stable. Oh, I should add, I have a z87-a motherboard and Hyper212 Evo which is another reason I like these modules. I had to remove the fan from the heatsink to install the first stick, but once on it fit under it just fine.

Cons: None I can think of, one of the best kits for the money.

Overall Review: Newegg's 3 day shipping was on time.

Love this stuff.

MASSCOOL G751 Shin-Etsu Thermal Interface Material

Pros: This paste performs just about as good as MX4 or Arctic Silver 5, or IC Diamond, or any other high-end paste. That's not the only thing you need to know about paste though. This is an industrial product, it is manufactured and gooped on all kinds of integrated electronics that aren't expected to be regularly oiled like our gaming rigs are. Thus, the great thing about this stuff is that it doesn't need to be re-set. You stick it on, and it will perform well beyond the extended life of the machine. It's non conductive and non corrosive, so no worries about re-applications, a short or corrosion. Compared to other optoins, MX4 needs to be reset every few years, Arctic Silver 5 does too, or it becomes corrosive. Not sure about IC Diamond but it's price makes it unreasonable as far as I'm concerned. I have this stuff between my 4770k and a Hyper 212 Evo and my Idle temps are 35c-40c depending on ambient temps in my house. Prime95 temps are 75c-80c, which is 5 or 6c lower than the coolermaster paste I used while waiting for this to come in. For comparison the stock cooler and paste gave idle temps of 55-60c and Prime95 temps of above 100c. I would shut down Prime95 after hitting 100c so I couldn't say what they peaked. I do work on commercial units. If I used other pastes I couldn't imagine how I'd explain to management that TIM needs to be replaced every three years, thus. this is now my go-to paste for both performance and industrial applications.

Cons: A bit pricey, no room for mistakes if you screw up more than twice or are wasteful you'll need to order more.

Overall Review: Buy it in larger quantities to avoid running out. It doesn't go bad like some pastes do so you're not wasting your money anyway. It takes about a day or so to cure, but that is to be expected and so does any other paste. It performs well enough on fresh application but best to wait a couple days before over-clocking no-matter what pastes you use.
